6 week Post Op appt is today

And I wonder if I am missing any questions? I guess I should have started my list sooner, but memory isnt what it was . I have taken the post op questions and modified them for me. The over all gist of my questions is as follows: Sleep & memory issues, vitamins, yearly check up, sex issues, swimming, baths, libido, exercise, restrictions, the swelling more on the left than right, internal stitches, how do I know my HRT dosage is right.

Am I missing something?? My appointment is in 2 hours so if anyone can think of something I might be missing please let me know!! Thanks in advance!!

6 week Post Op appt is today

My 6 week check up is this Thurs. I intend to ask him about tummy tucks. If he doesn't do them I'm sure he knows somebody reputable. First I want to lose as much weight as possible before having another stomach surgery. I still have to have my cataract surgery this summer. I didn't go with thelast center I went to. Something about them didn't set right with me so I got my PCP to refer me to a different doctor.

I have my list of questions ready. I'll probably keep adding to them. lol

6 week Post Op appt is today

I am 8 weeks today and I've had an internal check every 2 weeks since surgery. I still have some swelling and a couple of stitches so I need to go back on June 12th for another check. Hopefully I'll be in the clear and be able to resume normal activities. My DH is so hoping as well I thought it was wierd that he wanted to do an internal every 2 weeks, but I'm glad he does. It makes me feel like he's really keeping on top of my recovery.

UPDATE--Home from 6 week check up

Hi all! I am home from my 6 week check up and the dr. was pleased. He said I am 90+% healed, but I need to wait til the weekend before I attempt sex. And to be honest, that is ok, because the internal was slightly uncomfortable. But he said things looked good. I expressed my concerns about having NO LIBIDO what so ever, and he wrote out a scrip for some testestone (sp?) cream to use 2 - 3 times a week and even suggested the DH apply it I had to take that scrip to a compounding pharmacy and the pharmasist was great! Since I have no ovaries, he said I could add the progesterine cream once a day in the evenings and that should help regulate my sleep & such and that it was safe to use with estradiol. Way cool. Now on the issue of sleep, my dr. said for me take 2 extra strength tylenol and a glass of milk (he suggested skim, but I only do whole and he was fine with that) before bed. Something in the milk should help with the sleep issues. Even tho I have no cervix, I am still to see him once a year. Which is fine with me. I cant imagine dr.s releasing patients without doing the pelvic - that still floors me. Yes, my hormones are still balancing out, yes I will still get tired, call if there are problems. I can swim, take baths, start working the abs-but if it hurts stop.
One more thing, my left side swells and has a tendancy to be warm. He suggested that I massage the abdominal area perferbaly with heat. I stopped at K*Mart and they have this hand held massager with heat by Homedics ($24.99). I used it and found great comfort. PLEASE remember this came from my Dr. and I am six weeks out-we are all different and all of our doctors are different. Now that being said, it did induce another BM (yippee!!) and I do remember my massage therapist telling me that massage activates the bowels.
Oh and he did say that yes, it takes 6 months to a year to totally heal.So officially I am released for most everything - go slow, ease into normal routines, rest when needed. All in all I do feel good. But this heat wave has made me miserable! Good luck to all my sisters with their upcoming check ups!
