Hi
I had a SAH. I'm not sure if my recovery was easier. I personally felt the fact I had to be cut open to be difficult, I still am getting swelly belly above my incision area and tender at times when I have been more active.
For me sitting for a long time or excerise etc.
puff right up.
I think we all heal different. It's major surgery no matter how it's done for all the sisters here.
One thing that I did early on, after I was home... I think maybe 2-3 weeks post op?? I had a couple of days I was feeling pretty good, thought light housework included sweeping the floor. Well, that was a mistake

Had to spend rest of that weekend laying down. OUCH!
I think I had a pretty good recovery overall due to taking care not to over do it. That is very hard for me, lay around while dust bunnies and thier families were moving in, not be able to get out like I normally would etc.
Not sure about the four weeks? My Dr. was way more conservative. I have noticed that Dr's opinion etc. vary on
things like driving, intercourse, when some ladies go back to work.
I drive a stick shift, so I was on driving restricts longer. I was told nothing at all in the vagina for 8 weeks. I am self employed so not sure my gyn's view there? I did stuff work wise that I could do laying down while recovering.
I'm glad you're feeling well

Take care of you and pamper yourself. Pay attention to your body and it will let you know if you need to slow down etc.
