Memory Problems 6 months post anyone?

Anyone else experiencing this? I seem to have such a foggy brain these days, and I'm wondering if anyone else still feels this way after 6 months. It made sense to me right after the TAH, but still??????? I keep forgetting names, words get jumbled, losing things, etc. Drives me crazy! I just had total blood tests and hormone levels are fine. Just curious if anyone had this, and when it went away..... I'm not on HRT and would rather not be if I don't need it, and gyn does not think I need it since hormone levels are fine.

Memory Problems 6 months post anyone?

Dear Lee,

It's now been 7 months, and what a terrible memory ride it's been. About 6 weeks ago I decided I must do some brain exercises to try and get back to normal. I started playing word games every night with my husband. I dont like Scrabble as it involves what I consider to be mean-spirited strategy, so we play Boggle, which isn't as time consuming and doesn't involve any cut-throat moves. Anyway, I think it's really helping -- I'm starting to remember names, words, key locations, etc, much, much better.

As for causes, it could be hormonal, but apparently not in your case. I also think that the anesthesia is a big blow to the brains, and for some of us, takes a long time to get over.

Good luck.

I had brain fog and it was mainly hormonal. While I'm on a low dose of estrogen there are still days that are rough. My depression makes it worse.

Hope you figure out what's going on.

Oh PainterLee
About a week ago there was SUCH a big response to a post like yours, except i "forget" what it was called. . . .(LOL) but it was started by "Fab45", so if you private message her, or do a search for "memory" you may find it.
There were dozens of us who were experiencing the same thing!!
I like the memory game idea - I've been doing the crossword, word scrambles and sudoku in the newspaper at night, to try and keep those brain cells exercised. . . and I make a lot of lists!
Hang in there. . .

Thanks so much for the responses. I'm getting Boggle for this weekend! Great idea! Me and my dh love games and I never even thought of that one. I wonder if there is a game that can help me find my entire set of keys I lost this weekend. grump - house keys, keys to both vehicles, work keys. unbelievable. Had to change house locks, etc. I've never done that in my life. Anyway, hopefully it will get better soon. Thank you for the suggestions!
