TVH- Question's

I had the TVH. I didnt think it was bad at all. I didnt have much pain at all. Some cramps and have had some light pink discharge afterwards. I didnt have to take any pain meds after I came home. I had morphine in the hosp. that made me itch and did not help the cramps. They did get me something else for the cramps that worked wonderfully. (I think it was a muscle relaxer or something like that). I was put under anesthesia with mine. Other then that, I would say from my experience its hard to know you shouldnt be doing much cause there isnt much pain. I do get a little tired quicker and have had some bouts with not being able to sleep.
The worst part of everything was the constipation after I got home.

TVH- Question's

You're so smart getting info ahead of time! I wish I had. Here are a couple of things I learned after the fact: What a vaginal cuff is. That swelly belly does exist. That naps are necessary. Those electric carts at the stores are a lot of fun. It's really important that you set yourself up to get as much rest as possible after your surgery. Since we can't see the scar it can seem like it's not such a big operation, it is. No matter how bored you get you must rest and take care of yourself.

To tell you the truth the recovery isnt that bad at all.light bleeding, a lil cramping tender tummy but I will tell you the hardest part.....THE WAITING! I sweated this surgery for weeks, and I couldnt be more happier with the outcome. Good luck and if you have anymore questions I will be glad to help. Peroid free..Finally!!

I'll let you know

I'll be having a TVH on June 27th, so I'll join the group in letting you know how it goes after I get home.
This site has been very helpful (and sometimes scary) in hearing the various great stories and cautionary tales that these brave women share.
