I would call your dr. I know that is not what you want to hear. You might have a uti . It is best to get it checked out.

I would call the dr. Their job is to listen and take care of us. I know I have been listed as " not her again" and I don't care. Everytime I have called and complained of something it really has been something. Several times it ended up that I needed surgery or medicine. If you don't speak up you could get into a real bad situation. Untreated uti's can be dangerous. Make that call. You will be glad you did.
I hope you find out what is causing that pain. I know it is miserable.

Please call the doctor. It sounds like something that needs a professional medical opinion and possibly a "pee in the cup" test.

hurts to go pee pee!!!!!!!!
my bladder would hurt when i let it get full, especially after a full night asleep. i knew that my bladder was attached to my uterus and assumed that was why i was uncomfortable. it did not hurt like a uti. it was more like a bruise. i asked the dr about it and he said it was a bruise and it would heal in time. it is 10 weeks for me now and i feel a lot better.

hurts to go pee pee!!!!!!!!
I had my abdominal hyster.(uterus only) on 3/3/06-since the day they took the cath out-I have had pain urinating, but only at the end or urinating. I have had no urgency or burning...just sharp pain at the end. They tested me for a UTI the end of April...showed quite a bit of blood, but no bacteria in the culture. So,ob/gyn who did surg. said no big deal, thought it must have been a drop of vaginal blood in the urine sample. I was not bleeding from the vagina at all then. I don't think he wanted to be bothered with my issues. He gave me some antibiotics, call me if probs. etc...well here I am 14 weeks postop, and still pain. It is not as severe as in the beginning, but still there. I went to see a dr. friend of mine on Monday, and they did another urine test, showed quite a bit of blood, but culture did not grow out anything. So I am seeing a urologist on Friday, with a CT-IVP test done before the appt. He then wants to do a cystoscopy in the office to check the bladder.
I guess my question is, has this happened to anyone else? I am just wondering if the surgeon did something to my bladder or ureters during my hysterectomy...I am afraid that they will say that I have to have some more surgery! I have felt good after my hysterectomy...except this part. Anyone out there with the same issues? Thanks!
Stacy

hurts to go pee pee!!!!!!!!
Dear Stacy and girls,
(The surgeon certainly did do something to your bladder)
I had exactly the same for at leat the first seven or so months after Hysterectomy. It felt like I could not quite get the pee out with the same force pre-op. Then I would have this horrid strange pain when pushed, even lightly ( no girls it is not the same pain as urine infection).
Only later on when I read my surgical procedure notes which I requested I discovered that my bladder had indeed been repositioned and that my dear girls is no small feat. So, if you think that the position of your bladder has been moved think it is pretty normal that you are going to have a few bruises around the bladder. It is so sad that so few surgeons explain exactly what a hysterectomy entails. It is so much more than removal of part/all of the uterus. When the uterus is removed it leaves a big space where it has lived until then. Most surgeons today pop some stiches in after they remove the bladder to prevent future prolapse as the uterus helps to support the bladder. Initially (before I read my notes) it made me rather depressed As i too worried that something was wrong. I felt like nothing was working correctly and then I felt quite massacred. But on the bright side, (its my year anniversary today) now im peeing almost normally again. The pain has almost gone and i just get the occasional "pang" if i am in a rush to empty a very full bladder. Oh incidently also my bladder never emptied well in the begining and that is almost normal now to.
10 weeks is soooooo early in your recovery. I realise that now after a year. I would say that its only this last three months that I am starting to feel normal as far as energy levels, pee/poo function and orgasm (ha ha thats a whole new thread) I will fill you in some day on the evolution of the orgasm since surgery till now.
I think that the sad thing is that most of the GYN/Ob that take out our uterus's are men. I am not sexist but hey girls if a man has never felt it how can he really know what feel's normal and what does not?
So of course always take medical advice when worried but
give yourselves a break, your body needs a long time to heal
love to all you girls

Girls I have just seen another thread
Pain/Presuure at end of urination, what does this tell us?
Maybe our doctors are being unfair by not filling us in on the information we need about how much they bash around our bladders durung surgery, but at least we can see that this is a very common complaint and it does get better.
