Been having couple of rough days

I work with all woman in my depeartment. Yesterday I came back from the restroom. One of the ladies I work with tells me that she preg. I told her that I was very excited for her and her husband. She then went to telling me that she can't afford the baby and it just a bad deal all around. I mean don't get me wrong I have a daughter who is 6 that I love more then anything but I still think about not being able to have that choice any more. And I know that I am lucky to have her. But that just really hurt.

Anyway I get on the internet and see where there now have a vaccine for cerival cancer. I had to get up and go outside. I just feel really down right now. Alot of my friends don't understande. The way I look at it about the vaccine is that might give my daughter a chance not having to go through what I have.

Has anyone one else felt this way?

It is wonderful that they came up with the vaccine that the current kids don't have to worry about it. Your daughter is lucky, she is young enough. And she has a great mom.

My stepdaughter is 31, there are still many who still have to deal with the issure. But eventually it will be eradicated like all those other antique diseases.

Now if they can come up with a vaccine for fibroids???

I think what you are feeling is common. You just went through a major life changing surgery only about 90 days ago. You are still processing. I am 48 and even I have feelings of loss! I even had a dream 1 week after my surgery that I was pregnant, and was having everyone watch the baby kick! I woke up realizing that will never happen, even though it would have been a miracle if it happened before. So, as young as you seem, (having a 6 year old) this must be enhanced for you.

I do not think some people "think" when they speak. More people need to realize you can hurt .. a lot.. with words. The tongue can be a sword. Sometimes it is just because they do not take the time to think, or they do not know how to help, or what to say. Maybe a gentle reminder.... " I am happy for you, but right now is not a good time for me to discuss this with you" or something to that affect.

any way, I hope you are healing well, let me know how you are doing.

Been having couple of rough days

TRM I feel your pain hon. A week before my hyster a friend informed me she was pregnant...and it was not a "wanted" pregnancy. I couldn't believe the convo we had after that. I posted about it, but removed the post the same night. I was so hurt that this friend would turn to me, of all people, with something so painful. Sometimes people just don't think. They take it for granted.

I get upset reading about the vaccine. I think it's awsome that it could save so many women from going through what we have. But I can't help but wonder why we didn't have it a few years ago....so it could have saved ME from going through this.

I just think what you're going through is perfectly normal.

You know, sometimes we just don't think before we speak. That woman was probably so wrapped up in her own drama it did not occur to her that she was saying anything to upset you. Aren't we lucky that we have ths forum where we can feel support from women that understand what we're going through. Hope you're feeling better, we are all thinking of you.
