I'm starting the Special K Diet

Hi all, I have gained almost 12 pounds since my hysterectomy in September..it's horrid! I was a 5 day a week workout girl before my operation. Now, everything hurts and I find it hard to get back into the gym. I've decided to try the Special K Diet. Basically you eat a portion of Special K and skim milk for breakfast or lunch and eat a healthy balanced meal for dinner. I prefer a nice lunch and would rather do Special K for dinner myself. Anyway, others have lost a good deal of weight on this diet while of course excersizing as well. I intend to walk alot for now. Wanna join me and see how it goes?

Hugs,

Lilli

I'm starting the Special K Diet

Lilli,
I wanted to stop by and wish you good luck on shedding the extra pounds you've put on. With a balanced eating plan and exercise I think you'll be able to do it. Do keep us posted on your progress.

I'm starting the Special K Diet

I was just looking at the Special K diet, since I was thinking of taking the challenge and my only concern is that you have to eat two meals consisting of cereals and snacks are either fruit or Special K snacks or bars. That seems like a lot of carbs to me It may be great for someone who only has a few lbs to loose, but it's not something I would like to be on over a period of several months, as it would be my case (I have over 30 lbs to loose )!!!

I do wish you the best of luck with this plan!!!

I find it interesting that the carb thing has only come into play the last few years. Women have lost weight for many years and they did not have to deal with the carb thing. The bottom line is that you have to do what works for you. I have read recently where the lo carb is probably not the best way to go now. You lose weight initially, but the loss stalls and most end up gaining the weight back. IMHO a balanced diet and a plan that is going to work for *you* is the best way to go.

I'm starting the Special K Diet

That's a good point point (((Kim))). I'm not currently on a low carb diet, but on an exchange program based on the Canadian Food Guide. However, I did try low carbing, last year, and found that I would loose 6 to 8 lbs in the first week and would then stay the same the next week, despite being really faithful to the program.

I know that the Special K diet wouldn't work for me either, because I've tried those meal replacement diets before, and would end up stalling after a day or two. However, looking at their plan, I would think that it would work for some.

I agree that the best thing is to find a program that is best for you... and one you can stick to
