Phantom Period

Hey Ladies!

Its been 10 months since my surgery--well the last few days I feel like I am on a period...you know the crampy feeling. Is that normal? I get really nervous about stuff when it comes to my female organs...especially since I have had so many problems already.

Thanks!

Phantom Period

Hi Friz! I'm originally from Jax. I kept my ovaries too and yes you can have those period feelings if you keep your ovaries. I still have mini periods each month because I also kept my cervix. Kinda disappointing isn't it?

I don't have anything--no ovaries or cervix..is it still normal? I mean I have not "bled". I just have the crampy feelings....

Phantom Period

Hey Frizzle! I lost my cervix but kept my right ovary. My dr. told me that it would be possible to have phantom periods even if he took both ovaries. Because I tried to talk him into taking both ovaries so I would not have a remote chance of feeling like I had been. So if I was you I would just put in a call to my dr. It would help ease your mind on what is going on in you situation since everyone is different. My phantoms come the same time normal menstration would occur before my hyster. I cramp and have mood swings like all the other real Aunt Flows. Funny though since I dont have a uterus to be cramping. So call your DR. Keep us posted hopefully it is just a normal thing.

You are not alone. I too have phantom periods. I have both my ovaries but no cervix. Just the cramps, mood swings and sore breasts. If you are really concerned I would check with you DR.

Good luck.
