Mood Swing City!!!!!!!!

Holy mackeral gals! I didn't think it was possible to go from happy to mad as a torpido :burning: to crying my eyes out in a matter of 2 seconds. I am screamimg my head off and next thing I know I am laughing and then sobbing. What in the world is going on? I didn't even do that before my hyster. Boy do I feel for my family. The last 3 weeks I have been the sweetest my calmest friendly person in all the world and wham I am ready to fight. I am assuming it is my hormones but I don't think I can handle to much of that. Any suggestions on what to do? . Would a glass of wine help or make it worse??

Mood Swing City!!!!!!!!

Hi!

I had my surgery LAVH BSO on same day! I have not had the anger, just happy, sad, happy, sad/

It is definitely hormones, I have heard black cohosh tea is supposed to help with menopause symptoms! I haven't tried it yet, but may!

How are you doing otherwise?

Hope you are healing well.

Mood Swing City!!!!!!!!

I have had the mood swings and been mad but when I'm mad now I cry instead of yell. I will be glad when the whole emotional thing settles down. I don't know if the wine helped or not but I really felt better after a glass and just taking the time to regroup. When I felt like I was going tocry I just went ahead and cried my heart out and then felt much better - ha, until the next time.
Just know you are no alone. ~Donna

Mood Swing City!!!!!!!!

Hi ladies,
I too have been in hormone hell the last few weeks. It has been crazy and so not like me. My tears flow without warning now and feel like they are just below the surface. Add to that a little road rage and my see sawing hormone issues are complete. Way way worse than PMS.

I almost forgot the insomnia and constant fatigue inspite of taking Ambien too. God it's fun to be a woman, isn't it?? Definitely not for wimps!!

Anyway, I saw my doctor today and he prescribed a low dose estrogen capsule and progesterone cream to balance things out and I truly hope it does the trick. I start back to work on 6-20-06 and I can't do that if I am either crying or raging. These symptoms can be treated so don't suffer too long okay? You have my sympathies!!

Mood Swing City!!!!!!!!

Hey, Girls I feel your pain. I had everything out May 24. I've been blue a lot of the time since then. I tear up at least a dozen times a day. Just now it was all I could do not to cry during the VH1 special about Nick Lachey and how heart broken he is about his break-up with Jessica. Why I was watching that in the first place I cannot tell you. Last week I cried for at least 1/2 an hour when I forgot about my son's viola lesson. The poor boy didn't know what to do. I haven’t had too many angry moments yet but that is what I worry about the most.
Anyway the point of my post is to nag you all about making sure that any medical condition you might have and or the meds. you are taking aren't adversely affected by the Herbal remedies. I know that there are a couple of dozen that epilepsy doesn't like and another couple dozen that the anti-seizure meds. don't like. Regarding the Black Cohash, I heard a TV doctor say that it does seem to help some menopause symptoms but that it has to be the kind from the U.S. not the kind from China. {I hope I got that the right way round.} Regardless a test was done on a bunch of different brands of "Black Cohash" preparations and a lot of them were found not to have either nationality of Black Cohash in them. Buyer beware.
I started Premarin .3mg. a week ago and I haven't noticed an improvement yet. I've been told it takes a couple of weeks to kick in. When it does start to kick in it will have to kick into high-gear because the hot flushes and night sweats are gaining speed with every day. I’m having an awful time sleeping. Lack of decent sleep and mood swings are not a happy combination.
Take care ladies and stay away from sharp objects.

Mood Swing City!!!!!!!!

I was like that before my hysterectomy but my daughter even talks about how calm I am now. I cried one time and that was the night I came home but I think it was due to pain, not sleeping, and totally worn out. I didn't think I was every going to stop but haven't cried since then. It does sound like it's the hormones. I was on Vivelle dot before surgery and stayed on it. That may have helped me out.

Blessings,
Rose
