pain post op for 4 1/2 months

I am post op 4 1/2 months for hyster (removed left ovary, uterus, cervix and appendix) due to endo and fibroids. About 2 months ago started experiencing a sharp, grab and hold on type pain just above belly button. My incision was up and down type due to previous c sections. This type of pain will make you take several deep breaths and then turn a certain way and it goes away. (hope that makes sense). Anyway, besides that have been feeling pretty good, still get tired alot and DH and DS don't understand that I still need to rest. They think the incision is healed, scab is gone, Mom and Wife is back to normal. LoL do they need a lesson in major surgery 101. Also with the sex part, we waited till Dr said ok and it was great for about a month, now back to the same old thing as before pain with intercourse. This is so frustrating for me and I know it is for DH, he just don't understand and says I thought they fixed that. Someone, if you can please give me some info if you have expereinced the same thing. Now I wonder was it worth it all or should I have just suffered with the 3 week periods and the pain too. Thanks and sorry for such a long post.

pain post op for 4 1/2 months

Hi DMW, my surgery, a TVH, was also 4 1/2 months ago. I didn't have to deal with an incision, but I WILL get those stabbing, breath-taking pains. Mine are in the lower abdominals, mostly on the right.

My MIL doesn't believe me - she also had a TVH 40 years ago, for fibroids and didn't experience anything like this.

My pain will surge around PMS time and when I am a little more active than normal. Like today, when I sorted out my children's drawers - I actually lifted a few drawers full of clothes. Tonight, I was overcome by those pains. Once they started receding - after I layed down with my feet up - I felt drained and dizzy, like I'd been running after a bus for a few blocks.

This is really annoying

Howdy...

And welcome to the road less traveled. I'm sorry you're heare Just kidding, I'm glad you're here, but sorry you're still in pain. You're symptoms could be anything from normal healing (4.5months post op some people still feel pretty bad) to something more serious like adhesions or endo returning. If you still have ovaries it is more likely to occur. Hopefully it's normal healing, but painful sex (like something is being hit and hurting inside past the vaginal canal) sounds like what alot of endo sufferers complain of (me included). Burning and pain inside the vaginal canal could be an infection or it could be lack of lubrication (if your remaining ovary is not functioning or functioning poorly). The bottom line is that you need to find a doctor to help you with your symptoms. Trust me , I know how frustrated you are.

I suffered from endo for 20 years. I had one ovary removed, several operations, and then a tah/rso. I still have pain. Mine is apparently neurological in nature (perhaps). They aren't really sure. They are treating me for the pain, but they I've seen alot of experts who can
t seem to agree on WHAT it is.

Dany -- I'm soo sorry for your pain. I hope you find answers soon.

here's my story for those of you who are interested....
I sure hope the answer is much simpler for you gals.
