Anyone considered or had a tummy tuck w/their hyster?

Help,
I'm trying to decide if I should have a tummy tuck at the same time as my hysterectomy. I had twins 23 yrs ago (14 lbs total!) by C/Sec. . . need I say more on the damage done to my abdominals. I am a little person and my tummy area was destroyed and no matter how much exercise I did, it didn't help. Dr.'s say it will be no problem doing together.
Has anyone out there ever considered having a tummy tuck with their hyster or, better yet, has anyone done both together and have advice for me?
Thanks so much.

Tummy tuck?

I was actually going to joke with my doc when I go for my pre-op about the fact that he could take out some extra skin if he wants too. I really had no idea that it could all be done together. I say definitely GO FOR IT!!!! The more you get out of having to go through surgery to begin with the better off you are!!! Will a plastic surgeon be brought in or will it all be done by the same doc???

Tummy tuck?

My plastic surgeon would do the opening incision, then my gynecologist would do her part, then the plastic surgeon would finish. It will all take about 4.5- 5 hrs total (so, it's a big surgery). Of course, the plastic surgery cost is out-of-pocket. The hysterectomy and hospital stay is covered.
Thanks for the thumbs up!

Tummy tuck?

Dear Anxious--

I had a tummy tuck with my TSH/BSO and bladder suspension last November. It is WONDERUL!!! Recovery may have taken a bit longer (I went back to work in seven weeks) but I am now totally healed and loving my flat stomach. I even call myself "tummy tuck" on this site and encourage all pre-op sisters to look into the possibility. It cost an additional $1500 out of pocket--a super Christmas gift from DH ;o).

Tummy tuck?

Do it! I've always had pride in my flat stomach, and am a little person too. Now after my TAH/BSO I guess some of the musculature that was cut allows my tummy to look a little poochy. Booh! I am working out 3 xs a week and still can't seem to get back that flat tummy. Definitely you should get it done!

Tummy tuck?

I was thinking about the same thing! I definitely want to look into this. Tummy Tuck, did you coordinate it thru your GYN or Plastic Surgeon?

Tummy tuck?

tummy tuck,
Thanks for the encouragement. Good to hear I'm making the right decision. Mine will cost $6200. How come yours was so cheap? Mine covers the extra anesthesia, OR time, and plastic surgeon fees.

I always planned to have both at the same time. It is my way of giving myself a "present" for doing something I really didn't want to do (a TAH). My stomach has been big and ugly since my twins (23 yrs).
I spoke with my GYN, she gave a plastic surgeon's name that she respected . . . so I saw him and then coordinated both. It took awhile to finally get a date.
