Sept. 20 for me. I feel really good. I almost forget I had the surgery when it comes to pain. NONE. I still get a little swelly belly by the end of the day. I'm still not mopping/sweeping/vacuuming!! (Maybe I won't resume that chore..........just let dh do it!!!! My biggest concern is vaginal dryness during sex. My husband also said it "felt different". I'm assuming that's not a really "good" different. He didn't elaborate, and he seemed to enjoy it, but it was difficult for me with the dryness. I'm going to seek some help for this little issue. I hope all the other Sept. sisters are doing well. It was good to hear from you all. I haven't been to the site in about 3 days. I started back to work!! Busy, busy, busy. The second day of work is when I "hit the wall" of tiredness. BUT........I slept better that night than any other since I've been home from the castle. Take care ladies........let's keep in touch.

September 18 here!

Feeling awesome, actually! I'll be heading back to work on the 13th, full days. I think I am ready for it. Been back to exercising 30 minutes or more a day for the past two weeks and I feel great.

Everything is pretty much back to normal for me. I started with some minor depression regarding the no more babies issue, but when I look at my life realistically rather than wishfully, I realize that babies just aren't in the cards for me anymore. I have two wonderful daughters and will be adding two step-children in the future and that is well more than enough for me. My DBF has two grown children, one of which has two of her own and one on the way, so I'll just enjoy the grandbabies....(I know, 33 is way too young to be a grandma, but in my opinion, love knows no age boundaries!).

Hope you all are doing well, too!

Hello September Sisters! My surgery was Sept. 14 and I reached my 7 week mark this past Thursday. Am feeling really good. I do have the occasional pain here and there, but nothing I can't handle. Have been battling leg cramps/spasms, cramping toes, and neck muscle stiffness. I think I may have been fighting the flu last week, so that could be part of it. Have been eating more apples, etc. to try and get more potassium in my body.

I went back to work full time at 2 weeks and did fine. I have a desk job, so wasn't on my feet all day. If I were on my feet all day, it wouldn't have happened at 2 weeks. Am going to start regular exercise again next week. I belong to Curves and really miss it. Am looking forward to reshaping the "new me". I am able to do housework to an extent....nothing real ambitious, yet. I did put Halloween decorations away today. We had about 20 pumpkins lining our driveway. I moved them to our garden area for composting. I have to admit, my hips, lower back, and tummy were a tiny bit sore after that. So came in the house and laid on the heating pad.

Hubby came home from his hunting trip yesterday. Today is his birthday. We got the OK for "you know what" at my six week check up just before he went hunting. Soooooo....for his birthday.....we may give my "equipment" a gentle "test drive" tonight...if you know what I mean. I'm a bit nervous about the first time, but he'll be gentle and we'll be careful. Don't want to damage anything or hurt all day tomorrow. I still have lots of internal stitches that my doc said would take another month or two to dissolve....but should be fine. Hubby is taking me and my mother-in-law out to dinner tonight for his birthday....then back here for cake and ice cream....then the rest of the evening will be ours to enjoy...just the two of us....a few candles, and some soft music....back rub, etc., etc.

I'm so thankful for the "Hyster Sisters" site. I don't know what I would do without it. Things would be a lot more difficult to deal with since my surgery if I wasn't able to "talk" with my "sisters" about your experiences and offer support myself to others. You gals are the best! I appreciate our friendship and value your support!

Sept 14th was my surgery and I am doing pretty good, I tire easier than I used to. I went back to work last week working 10 hour shifts for three days and by the third night I was pretty sore at first but felt fine later and was fine the next day. All in all I am healing well and very glad I had the surgery.

I am at 7 weeks and I thought I was doing pretty good until yesterday. I went back to school for 2 days this past week (Tues. & Thurs.) and yesterday I was in the bed most of the day. Very uncomfortable pulling in my stomache area and pains in my lower abdomen and groin & exhaustion!!! I slept about 11 hours last night and feel better today - but I don't know when I'll be feeling better to go back full time - I'm thinking of the week before Thanksgiving to start back full time. Hi Everyone
9/19 for me I feel pretty good overall
The problems I still have are insomnia and a UTI. I have no UTI symptoms, but I have had 2 round of antibiotics and it is STILL here. I personally think it is my uterus getting revenge somehow... LOL
Me and dh took the new improved equipment out for a ride, and he came home from work with a dozen roses the next nite so I was encouraged!!!!
Back to work but just a few days a week adding a more time each week.
The only down sides of getting better is not "seeing" as much of you guys here. Not a day has gone by since I came home from the castle that I have not thanked God
for you ladies. I would be lost without you all even now

Hugs

Harley

Doing well here. In fact, I've done great from the day of surgery. No complaints, other than the day after I tried to get back to normal too early. But that only lasted an hour or so...felt dizzy, flushed, etc.

This past week, I have had a problem with one incision. I think it is just being irritated. It sits right where my seatbelt crosses my lap. It is not only the "lap incision" it is also the site of a mole removal that day, so it is a bit larger than "normal".

Today, it actually bled a bit. I think it was a bit of scabbing that was rubbed away causes it to bleed. I put on a bandaid and it seems to be fine now. Yea! It does still have all three steri-strips firmly attached to it, so does my navel incision.

I have my first follow up appointment next Friday (November 10th). I am really curious to see how the Dr. feels that my incisions look. My friend, who is a nurse, told me two weeks ago that they all looked great.

On a fun note, I met up with another Hyster Sister this week. It was fun to actually meet one of "us" in person.

Glad to hear that everyone here is doing great.

I have been getting into the holiday baking spirit lately and made some great Pumpkin Rolls today. I'll post the recipe in the recipe area.

Great to have a check on everyone! Sounds like you are all doing fairly well. MsKayJay - are you on HRT? If not, I am wondering if that's something you should look into. I have a GREAT primary Doc and he has me on bioidenticals. To tell the truth, getting my hormones back to somewhat balanced has done wonders for me. I think my levels are getting to where they should be, and emotionally, I feel better than I have for 10 years!

Today is the first day I have felt positive about my recovery. If anyone has kept tabs on me, there were days when I just didn't think I would make it. I am still concerned about the hematoma, and I am still very sore, bathroom experience is that my tummy is calming down, but still have constipation and depend on MOM. Discharge has been normal until yesterday, when it became brighter red, but is still only when I wipe. Have started walking small distances about four times a day and that has probably helped me more than just about anything or than HRT. Swelly Belly is giant, but that could be because of the hematoma. But it's a different shape than it was pre-op. It was hard and protruded like a 7 mos pregnancy, even when I laid down on my back. Now it's kinda soft and is a jelly swelly belly. Doesn't look "lumpy" anymore, just slack. Nights are worse, mornings are great. I still have a huge need for sleep and don't seem to be suffering there. Dreams are weird, though.

I heard that six months will go by before we have days when we don't even think about our surgeries.

I know today is an exception and I will most likely have worse days to come. But for now, my new found sense of wellness is like having a new toy! I can't wait to get all better. The future better look out for me!

Lovies to all.

I was 7 weeks on Thursday. I went back to work on Monday full time (I teach middle school). I had a really good week. I was a little sore on Monday and Tuesday and had to take some ibuprofen, but otherwise I was fine. I was totally exhausted but slept well each night. After working all day yesterday and doing a major grocery trip, I was worn out. My back and shoulders were killing me, but other than a few twinges in my stomach, I think I did very well. I slept like a rock last night. If only this blasted swelly belly would go away, I too would be "golden"! I am tired of wearing warm-up pants and stretch pants. I am almost tempted to get some maternity jeans!! (almost!!

Glad to hear that so many of you are doing so well. I am so glad that I decided to have this surgery. I do not miss Aunt Flo or how sick I was every month!!
