Intro

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm 38 w/1 very large fibroid. My uterus is the size of a 30 wk pregnancy. I was told today I should consider a hysterectomy. I guess I've known for a while that I needed one, but to actually hear the words from a doctor made me very upset. I have never been able to conceive so my husband and I adopted 4 yrs ago. So my fertility is not an issue for me. I can't really explain my mood right now because I don't really understand why I feel this way. My uterus has never really functioned properly anyway, so why do I feel sad at the prospect of losing it?

I don't have a surgery date yet, I will have to ask family members to help me w/my son since we don't have anyone here and DH won't be able to take off for very long. I may have it later this summer. Sorry this is so long, I'm thankful that I found this site.
