Date scheduled July 12

Well after contemplating this for a few weeks, got my date, and all of a sudden my world seems to be spinning with all kinds of emotions. What can I expect, how will I feel. Seems like no one in my home REALLY understands what this is.
I really need someone right now. Scheduled for TVH
scared, although I know this is a good thing..

any one out there feel the same, or can help

i do not have a date yet. I have to go to the OB?GYN son.. but I know about the spinning of emotions.. mine is mostly that I just want it over with. I would think the best thing to do is BREATHE, and come on this site as much as you can!

Oh, how I remember those emotions! It seemed that all I could think about in the weeks coming up to my surgery was ..... well, the surgery.

If you haven't already visited my two favorite places here at Hyster Sisters, I invite you to check them out. First, you can look at the Hysterectomy Checkpoints section which gives you a very good idea of what you might expect during various phases of the initial recovery period.

The other place is the area where I must admit I nearly became addicted to prior to my surgery -- the Tell Your Hyst-Story subforum of this pre-op discussion board. You will find story after story, straight from the who have gone before you. I found great comfort in reading these stories, since the ladies are very open about how they were feeling before surgery, at the hospital, and in their early recovery stages.

I know how you feel, we are scheduled for the exact same day. I am very nervous and actually just wish the day would get here already so I can get it over with.

My hubby is, Thank God, extremely supportive and strangely even my mom (not a great relationship) has asked how she can help. I hope everything goes great for you (and me), and I'll look for your posts on the other side.

I'm scheduled for July 11th - and I was going through crazed emotions before my pre-op appointment with the GYN.

I printed out the pre-op FAQ to take to my appointment with my GYN (that's on the site here)and began to feel better about everything.

I also began to prepare the stuff to take with me to the hospital (again - list here on this website) - AND - I have begun to clean and get the house ready.

A friend of mine said that if I didn't want to make food for when I get home - I could always buy frozen dinners. I think that's the way for me to go since my DH and DD don't cook (well or often). I think I would get tired of eating fast-food.

I still have my moments where I feel stressed, but overall - I have the feeling of wanting it over and done with!

I am comforted reading all of the posts here - so I know everything will turn out fine.

We are scheduled on the same day, and I live in Albuquerque too! Are you going to be at Women's Hospital? Who is your Dr? What type of surgery are you having? I realized yesterday I (we) only have 3 weeks and I panicked a bit. I haven't started cleaning my house and it needs it! I work all day and then am weary when I get home (anemia due to the boys-fibroids) so I don't start. I'm not worried about the surgery or recovery, but am really starting to freak about the HRT. I just don't have time to mess around with it to get it tweaked just right. I suppose I will make the time if I have to though. E-mail me if you want-maybe we could meet? --->minimee

Well how weird is this, I just found this web a couple of days ago, and now I have someone in my own town, same day,
For starters Im 42, scared , and tired of living with the pain I endure. Not to sure what to think of whats to become of me afterwards, only hope its better than what I deal with monthly
Im having TVH, leaving the only ovary I have left at Pres, My doc is Dr.Mark at womens specialist. so my surg is at Pres, I work full time, and just let my work know I will be gone for 6 wks, didnt go over to well. but oh well.
My husband is quiet and I suppose pretty nervous,just cuz Im usually the strong one in our home.
No house cleaning until 2 days before, cuz thats the way I do things. message me back, nice to know your right around the corner, same date and all

Mine is the 12th too. Was to see the DR. a few days ago for a test for a abnormal Pap. He took a biopsy. Should know the results before surgery. Have had the Hosp. call to confirm date and info. Nurse called today about pre-op testing and pre-op Dr visit. I did get to ask some questions the other day but of course didn't take my list for that one. So I will have a few more then. Pre-tests are on the 10th. I did find out he will use stiches the ones that desolve. That's good. I did NOT want staples. He is taking the cervix. I told him that I have major pain every time the left overy ovaulates. So he wrote to take that one out. I just can't wait until this is over. Even though This is not the summer for it...lol When is it. We are moving. So I'm am in the middle of painting the entire new house. Have a zillon fences to get put in, and horses, goats, chickens, pigoens,ect... to move. URGGG. I know it will all work out in the end. But so much to do before and time is running out... .
Of course right now I am still up and ready for the surgery. Just wait until the days before. I will be a basket case like I was for my abulation. But my main panic about that was I was never put to sleep before. (had spinals for my c-sections.) It was a breeze. So I am more relaxed about that. Plus, I have watched a hysterectomy preformed. I was in Paramedic school. I got to run around with the (the guy who puts you to sleep) I seen several surgerys. Was neat to watch. I am a want to know whats going to happen person. I see several are scheduled for the 12th for right close. It will be nice to keep in touch.
