13 Weeks Post Op problems

Ladies I need your advise. After my shower last night I was looking at my incision and I have two places that are draining with greenish/blood fluid. For the past couple of days I have had a tender spot but didn't pay much attention to it. My husband looked at the spots last night and was able to get the fluid out of one spot but the other spot hurt so bad when he touched it he stopped. He said the second spot had a hard knot above it that he was wondering could be full of the fluid. But it hurt to bad. What do you all think? I'm wondering if it is infected and I need to go back to the dr. Have I been doing to much? After 13 weeks I thought I could do anything I wanted. Please help.

hi phoneman!
I would DEFINITELY call your DR!!! From my experience green means infection...You probably need some antibiotics.

Good Luck!

I agree. A call to the doctor is needed. If you have an infection you need to be put on antibiotics. Please keep us posted.

Hey there! I agree that you need to put a call in to your dr, ASAP. What you are describing suggests that you have a developing infection on your incision. Have you taken your temperature? If it's elevated then that further suggest an infection.
I have had similar problems with a c-section incision in the past and they cleared it up without too much trouble. However, the sooner you start to fight it, the sooner you get better. Please keep us updated.

Hi phoneman! It does sound infected, but I don't think it is because you are doing too much. Increased activity could stress your healing muscle and tissue, but I don't think it would cause infection. Hugs, Carolyn

I'd suggest that other than covering it with a sterile dressing, you don't put anything on it until you call your doctor.

You're absolutely right Catherine! I was coming back here to retract my recommendation. It all depends on what the dr recommends, he may want to see it in all it's oozy glory to get the full picture of what's going on.
