Steristrips and mood swings

I am in a yucky mood today....screaming at my kids, crying and then laughing. It seems like nothing will lift my spirits. I haven't been out of the house and feel like crap!

My steri strips are driving me insane! They are really itching down below my incision where my hair is growing back.

Is there anything to relieve this itching? Anything to relieve my horrible mood today? I told my dh, the only thing I have to look forward to everyday is my next meal! I hate feeling this way. My Dr. said it might take a while for my right ovary to wake up and come out of the shock it's in....but how long is a while? I am so tired of feeling this way!

Can anyone relate? Thanks for listening!!

Steristrips and mood swings

I'm sorry you are having such a rough day, hopefully it won't be much longer for your ovary to get in gear. I can't really relate because I just feel so much better than I did before the surgery that everything just seems fabulous...but I can understand what you are saying about the steristrips and the itch, I just laid down with an ice bag and it is actually helping, so you might try it...at least it is something to try. Good luck!

Steristrips and mood swings

I second the ice bag for itchy hair relief. I remember my steristrips making me bonkers. As far as your ovary waking up...it took mine three months to get back up to speed. I know that's not the answer you wanted.
Have you tried getting dh to rent your favorite movies? I found that helped to lift my spirits when the cabin fever set in, I especially loved it when he brought home comedies. I can relate to screaming at the kids during my immediate recovery. I'm shaking my head at myself remembering what a pain I was. Just remember that every uneventful, boring day that passes is one day closer to being healed and back to normal. Until then remember to breathe and take it easy.
