one year post op and lot of good and bad memories(please read)

well sisters today marks one year since my hysterectomy and alot of feelings and memories come back. good and bad. the surgery that went super well to the months of trying to quit bleeding and fighting an infection that my gyn said never existed but yet kept running fevers of a 103. all the pain for 5 mths. if not for a wonderful general surgeon would have died. come to find out those 5 mths of being told there was nothing wrong and that i was fine was a 8 CM mass where my uterus use to be that was filled with puss and ecoli. the general surgeon said he was glad he had finally found it cuz i would have died. right before the last surgery my mother in law (god bless her) had her hyster. well hers didnt go good either she was 79 yrs old when she had hers. she got worse and worse but hers was due to age and cervical cancer at her age. we lost her in march due to the cancer. still healing after the last surgery even though it was 7 mths ago it was far far worse to recover from than the first.

to all the sisters that have questions and you feel your doctor is not answering them or you just dont feel right please please get another opinion or talk to your GP. my gyn keeps saying he wants more money after he was paid over 30,000 dollars for my hyster. told him the last time yeah you will get more money when i get my life back you took for those 5 mths that you didnt listen to me and almost killed me. but seriously if you dont like what the doctor is telling you ask and talk to another one maybe he is right or MAYBE he is wrong. for you life and your future ASK. if it hadnt been for a friend i would have never went to the surgeon and probably wouldnt be here today.

feels good to not have pain anymore from the surgery or from the uterus being there. feels great to be alive and able to do again. guess my new hyster date oughta be november 4th, 2005 instead of june 30th cuz the surgeon gave me back my life that day. funniest thing is though 10 days after my last surgery was my birthday LOL.

sorry so long and pray one and all heal and have wonderful lives ahead of them.

love
laurie
