Ready to give up on HRT

I have been taking HRT since the start (10/25/2002). I cannot lose the wieght I've put on, and I amy sick and tired of yeast infections. Any ideas?????

I would read up on alternatives to hrt if that is what you are wanting to try. You can start by looking at our Resources library first and then I would talk to my dr about getting off.

If you decide to get off of hrt you will want to wean off over several months time in order to not have severe symptoms.

If you want to try over the counter supplements or herbs they may take up to 4 weeks or longer to see results as they are very weak plant estrogens.

Have you tried going on a lower dose of hrt and see how you do ? It may be that you will not gain as much weight or be as hungry on a lower dose. Also I have found I have to exercise a whole lot when I am on hrt.

As far as yeast infections , I have found probiotics from the health food store to help with the yeast.
