3.5 weeks post-op...I feel alone

Okay am 3 weeks 2 days today and went to my doctor for 3 week check up. He examined me...said everything was healing fine...lifted ALL restrictions...told me do whatever I felt like doing...I don't need to go back to him (return to my own GYN). I feel like I've just been thrown out intot he "real world" and I'm not ready. I still hurt...I'm "yucky and achy" to coin a phrase I read here. I have pressure in my bottom...he says I can have sex now ( ICRAVEDDDDDDDDD it for the past 3 weeks) but I'm scared to death to have it now. I am having hot flashes that he says should go away in 6 months or so. I can't use hormones to help me through because I am also a breast cancer patient! SO...I can go from lifting nothing over 10 lbs to anything I want...cleaning (I've been doing some of that all along) driving...THAT I WANT to try ...but sex...at 3 weeks 2 days...did anyone else? Did you worry about infection? Did it hurt? My hubby is reved up and ready to go TONIGHT....HELPPPPPPPPPPP PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE

3.5 weeks post-op...I feel alone

Hi angellover,
There was no way I was ready at 3+ weeks...I finally got clearance to go ahead at 7, and DH was out of town...it was 10 weeks before we were able.
Just because you have the go ahead does not mean you have to. If your body it still too achy, then wait. Maybe "outercourse" is a good idea, just to get you thinking that way?
Best of luck.

3.5 weeks post-op...I feel alone

Hi angellover~
I had surgery the same day as you and when I went for my 2 week checkup I was told that I looked like I was healing nicely however no restrictions were lifted at that visit and I was told absolutely no sex. I told my Dr. that was not a problem because that was the furthest thing from my mind. My next checkup is at 6 weeks and then I will see what happens. If you are not happy with your surgeon saying all restrictions are lifted maybe you should go to your GP. Some of it sounds a bit soon to me, I would not do anything I was not comfortable doing no matter what. Good luck to you.

You have to listen to your body. I am further along than you and today I finally woke up feeling "good." So I thought....of course that led to me cleaning a little too much now I'm aching all over again. This is a tough recovery and if you don't feel ready.....you're body is screaming to you , "Don't!" Hubby will have to wait...sorry men...we get one chance to do this right.
