Estra Ring

I am 5 yrs. post total hyst. I am no longer using HRT. A few months ago I visited my Dr. because of vaginal dryness. She said I was very thined out and she prescribed the estra ring. That seems to have helped quite a bit. But, it is now time to change the ring. This is gross I know , but I had a bit of trouble removing it - and found it to be coated with a white creamy substance - like 2 tsp of handcream. That was a surprise. Has anyone noticed this type of experience with the ring? Also, do you leave yours in during intercourse or take it out and then replace it? The Dr. said I could do it either way - I haven't been brave enough to even try intercourse yet.

Estring

Hi I wanted to respond to you using the Estring I use it and like it , I do leave it in for intercourse and Iv had no problem with hubby, it does really help the vaginal dryness, I have alerted my doc and told him tho I noticed right about a couple of weeks when the 3 months hit it sorta slips sometimes and I getkinda yukky, but he said we can order it earlier, I use the vivelle patch too I give you credit tho for not being on hrt only vaginal I had a total hysto 6 yrs ago and still have to adjust dosages alot! The white slimy stuff is estrogen and your vaginal tissues getting estro according to my gyn.

If you feel ok just leave it in during intercourse it wont hurt hubby or partner at all

Estring

I was using the Femring, and now Nuvaring. I also experienced the yucky white stuff when changing it (what a milestone for me......changing my own ring!!!). I have always left the ring in during intercourse and it never interferes. My gyn said I could use a tampon applicator to put the NuvaRing in.......but I just don't see me doing that!! I get squimish. And now having to change this NuvaRing every 3 weeks.......should definitely raise my anxiety level!
