pain in left breast area into my left shoulder blade area

I found a lump in my left breast back in Feb of 05 went to my gyno. She said it is fatty tissues it is normal. She told me to get off of caffiene and take Vit E 800 IU's and excercise and get on a lower hrt. I am taking Estraderm 0.05mg. Okay tried all that and had to get back on my normal hrt due tot he fact that the Vivlelle Dot gave me too many symptoms. SO she sent me for an Ultra SOund gave back normal, then the mammogram which came back normal too. So since for 6 months the lump & pain didn't go away she sent me to a breast specialist. SO I sawhim, he found the lump wasn't concern but did a needle biopsy-that came back NORMAL! Then 6 more months later I decide for him to take it out, he suggested it back then but I wanted to wait to see if it will go away with epson salt baths but that didn't work either. Had my surgery-lumpectomy back in Feb 06 sent in the cyst and that came back NORMAL NO CANCER! Okay been fine all these months up until about a week ago I am having the fiery pain in the left breast area going through the body cavity into the back left shoulder blade. NOW it could be that the pain is starting in the left shoulder blade area and going through the body and out the left breast area instead. I am under a big amount of stress!!! I taught my two older boys how to drive, practiced with them everyday and took them to get their drivers license, which they past with flying colors, and now driving. I wonder since I am under a lot of stress could this be stress related and not breast related? My BS told me that the pain I felt prior to the surgery shouldn't of been from teh cyst. He was surprise to hear that the pain went away for a while after the surgery. He thought it was due to the muscles on my chest, I am considered thin and was told I will feel stuff more. I am going for my mammo this Aug 19th and hope all is well. Has anybody experience this kind of pain in the whole left side area from breast to back shuolder blade? If so please le tme know how your doing and what your doing to get rid of it.

pain in left breast area into my left shoulder blade area

Hi (((cyberlady40))) I haven't experienced one-sided breast pain into the shoulder blade area. That does sound to me like it might not be your breast at all, but I'm glad you're going to get it checked out via mammogram.

Usually when women experience pain from cysts, as in fibrocystic breasts, which can be aggravated by estrogen, it's in both breasts - although it may intensify in one or the other if a particular cyst is getting big. Still, I would doubt that it'd go into your shoulder blade.

Have you tried a heating pad over your shoulder, front to back, to see if that helps the pain resolve?

s,
-Linda

thank you for your reply. I need to update my email address on here and change it to my new one . I didn't realize I had any replies. I think maybe it is stress related. I have been trying the cold pack but will try the heat pack next time, thanks for the suggestion. Take care.

Wink - pain in left breast area into my left shoulder blade area pain in left breast area into my left shoulder blade area

Hi Cyberlady,
Strange you should ask this question.
I had breast surgery last Thursday the 13th. Four days prior. The strangest thing happened. I go to my chiropractor and get adjustments when needed. I new when I went that my entire spine was out of alignment. On Monday and Tuesday of last week, before my surgery, I went to my chiropractor two days in a row. My vertebrae between my shoulder blades was out, really bad. My left shoulder blade was in excruciating pain. It went under my arm to my left breast. I could not take a deep breath. My left breast was killing me. That has never happened before in my life. I have been going to that doctor for 26 years. Anyway, after the two adjustments. I got better. By Thursday, my left breast had quit hurting. Until surgery of course. Good luck with your pain. I just wanted to share my experience. Never know. That could possibly be what is hurting you. I do know from experience. Stress attacks the weekest part of your body.
Take care. Sincerely, Sunshine 48

re:pain in breast

Hi Sunshine48,
thanks for your reply. I go to my Chiropractor alot and sometimes I will complain of my apin and she will do certain things to that area and the pain is gone until either a day or two its back. Now I tend to keep my stress internalize so probably my left side is the week side. Right now my left hip is out again and will go back to her for another adjustment. I might have to go twice this week as I was trying to get it down to once or twic a month. I am under stress about my blood lab results are in and my reg dr wants to see me. You know the post card they send you eithering marking its normal box or the box that says please make an apt to see your reg dr well that was the box that was checked! She did say that mt Thyroid is on the upper high end of normal on the 6th. So she sent me for a full blood test of my thyroid, heart, insulin, cholestreol, ect. SO I am stressing out about that and I am really trying not too. I will tell my Chiro about the pain came back again and I know she will help me. I am also on a herbal supplement to help with my stress levels and it probably hasn't had time to get into my system yet. Thanks again.

You go girl.
And try to think positive.
Isn't it awful, that as we get older, we suddenly have to worry. Am I OK ?
Men, don't even seem to slow down long enough to go to the doctor unless we make them. Well, some men. Not all. Keep me posted. I truly hope that, ALL that is wrong can be fixed by an adjustment. That would be nice wouldn't it. Also, maybe one day if you can put the money back. Go get a massage. Seriously. If nothing else. It will make you feel better for a while.
Stay in touch. Sunshine 48

At first they couldn't get me in until Aug but they do have an opening with the Nurse Practioner tomorrow and wanted to know if I wanted to come in then and I said yes!!! I'll let you know how that goes and in the mean time tonight I will go in for my adjustment.
