biopsy results - negative

The doctor called today and said the results from my endometrial biopsy was negative. I still have to go and have an ultrasound on Tuesday. I have a 12 week (enlarged, asymetrical uterus), a very large fibroid, possibly two and have had the postmenopausal bleeding. He told me I could go back on my vagifem (HRT) How confident should I be in the biopsy results?
I am expecting he will still recomend a hysterectomy when I see him on Tuesday. Any thoughts and recommendations? thanks again.

That's wonderful news, Jane! What a relief. If you're not comfortable with the reliability of his biopsy results you can definitely seek a second opinion. My advice would be to do so with a gyn/oncologist.

Why not take your reports, slides, what have you and have a consult with a gyn/oncologist, as well, before you do anything?

Good luck on Tuesday...I hope you get some answers w/that ultrasound.

What wonderful news re the negative biopsy report.
It is good that your doctor is trying to be thorough and is doing further tests; the ultrasound also can show if your endometrial lining is abnormally thick. If you have any lingering doubts pls get a second opinion from a gyn/onc.
