Ovaries stop working?
Sorry, I just posted with a question and realized I had another! I have read some posts where women discuss the fact that one or both of their ovaries have stopped working, which of course, could or will cause menopausal symptoms. I asked my doctor about this and said that while your ovaries could stop working, it is generally not caused by having LSH. For those whose ovaries did stop working, what was the reason.. do you know? Has anyone asked their doctor this question and gotten a different answer? Just curious as to what would cause this to happen.. thanks!

Ovaries stop working?
Hi Zengac,
The blood supply to the ovaries is compromised when the uterus is removed and can take a while for it to re-generate. Some women don't notice any sluggishness, and some do. If you do experience some symptoms, your Dr will be able to prescribe some help to get you through the recovery period. Some women have one ovary removed and the remaining ovary is even capable of working for two
Good question

Ovaries stop working?
I have yet to have my hysterectomy, but had my right ovary removed a year ago. My left one was functioning fine until March. That's when it started showing signs of premature ovarian failure. The doctor said that was probably going to happen anyways, surgery had nothing to do with it. It could be the endo and adhesions he found or it could be the PCOS. Some people just go into POF. So, mine had nothing to do with the surgery, it was just nature. Hope this helps you out a little.
