Cysts After Tah

HI ALL,

YEA YOU GUESSED IT !! I have two cysts one on each overie. One that is a simple cyst and one that is a complex cyst ( filled with blood), my doc is playing the wait and see game. I feel really good from surgery just now my right side by my overies is killing me . I dont know which side has what cyst. I will be asking my doc. so my question to all is any one else have this problem after their surgery, if so did you have to have surgery again and if so what was it like? How is the recovery from this kinda surgery? I am so scared I just want to recovery from my tah and not worry about surgery again. This tah recovery was alittle harder than I thought.

Cysts After Tah

Hi Jules, Any idea how big the cysts are? I believe it's normal to develop a cyst on your ovary each month, it enlarges to about 2 cm and then opens to release the egg. When that "old" cyst heals, it clots, giving the appearance of a complex cyst. The cyst prior to ovulation is a simple cyst. After surgery, your horomones can go a little wacky, throwing your normal cycle off. You may develop the normal follicular(ovulation) cyst but if you don't ovulate it becomes a "retention" cyst and can grow much larger than a normal follicular cyst.(size depends on how many cycles it skips before you finally ovulate) It usually goes away on its own by the next cycle. As that cyst resolves, another follicular cyst on your other ovary may grow, not realizing that your body hasn't released the last egg on the other ovary. (you ovulate from one ovary one month, then the other ovary the next month) I have a 3.6cm retention cyst which they found a week ago. (it was simple at the time) The Dr. is just following it with ultrasound. Yesterday it was down to 3.1cm and starting to get more complex. I think that as long as the complex cysts are getting smaller and not bigger, all is ok. They are a pain, literally! I hope it all resolves for you. Hang in there!

Cysts After Tah

hi trina

thanks for the reasurrance I really dont know the size of both I know one is 2cm and was getting bigger but unsure which cyst it is. My doc just called me to see how I was doing and I asked her which cyst was on which side and she said that my bigger more complex cyst is on the left and the smaller cyst is on the right (thats the one that I can feel). So I guess thats good news. I dont have any pain on my left side just the right hopefully it will stop hurting so bad. it feels like a huge rock thats putting pressure on everything.
