Stopping HRT and starting new one?

I would appreciate any input about starting a new HRT regime and stopping the old one. I want to stop the compounded troche with 3mg. of estriol (weak one) and 125mg. of progesterone. I have been taking it for over a year and a half and I feel so tired and weak. Plus, it doesn't help me sleep at all. And the doctor who prescribed it just kept telling me I would get better. The only thing it has done is I don't have as many panic attacks or dizziness but the fatigue and weakness is a big prize to pay. My gynocologist never wanted me to take the troches she wanted me on Climara .5mg. I can't call her and ask about stopping and starting as after my last pap she thought I would follow her advice and put the patch on. I just need to know if any of you just stopped one hormone and started the other close together. Sorry for the long e-mail.
Thanks in advance.

Stopping HRT and starting new one?

Hi Trish!

I never had a lapse between stopping one form and starting another. I simply took my last dose on one day and started the new hormone the next.

Any changes can bring on symptoms so don't be alarmed if you notice symptoms when you switch. Keep a journal during the process so you can gauge your progress. Share that with your doctor while working to find balance.

Good luck with this! I hope you feel better soon.

Stopping HRT and starting new one?

Trish-
I have been on 3 different estrogens in three weeks by my doc. I couldn't stand any of them. So I decided myself to stop it all. I am a herbal and holistic person myself and hate all that here is a pill for this and here is a pill for that!!! I have been looking for a long time at herbal suppliments for friends of mine who were just going through the changes due to age and found one at GNC Nutrition Store. It is called Phyto Estrogen. It helps naturally and I have notice no side effects. I notice within hours of taking the others that I had all the symptoms you are talking about plus the anxiety as well. I didn't like the fine print about the estrogens either. I felt like I was trading one set of problems in by having the surgery, in exchange for another possible set of very bad problems in the long run.!!! So I have now been on this herbal one for 2 days and have no side effects and feel much better!! It has on been 3 weeks 4 days since my surgery, but I feel mother natures herbs are better than mans man-made ones. My chiropractor also has an herbal one as well. I feel with their case studies they don't have any side effects or other possible risky health issues to go along with them. I felt safer trying them. Hope this helps. Don't forget about Calcium 600 +D. Any questions let me know!!

Tara
