I've found a lump!!!!

Hi girls. I'll be 5 months out on August 14th, Dx with cervical carcinoma in situ involving a few endocervical glands. Doc was sure he got it all, and path report states no invasion of stroma. I have been experiencing burning pain in my abdomen that radiates down my legs and up my back. Yesterday, I found a very hard lump on my pubic mound, it was very red and painful with a lot of edema surrounding it. I am scared to death that he didn't get it all and that it has somehow spread to a lymph node. I had my first follow up scheduled for Aug 23rd, but I just called and had it changed to this coming Friday, Aug 4th. The swelling has gone down this morning, but lump is still there, hard and painful. Please tell me that this is normal!!!!!!!! Any input would be greatly appreciated. Hope all are doing well!

I've found a lump!!!!

it sounds like a little boil (i know thats gross) or something..like an ingrown hair. A suspicious lump probably wouldnt be red or so painful.
good that you will see your doctor though, for your peace of mind.

I've found a lump!!!!

I agree. I had a similiar infection, years ago. It was an infected hair, very painful, hard, red, and swollen. It eventually burst and drained. (Sorry to be so graphic!)

Hugs and comfort,
Janie

I've found a lump!!!!

Dear Kelp,

I agree with jujubees that it sounds like a little boil or ingrown hair. I'm sorry to say that I sometimes get these labial boils and that they resolve themselves. I just got over one.

I hope that whatever it is you are having will go away quickly and completely.

I've found a lump!!!!

I'll 3rd the boil diagnoses. I've had them in the same pubic area twice. The first time I thought it was a cancerous tumor. I ran to the doc and the nurse practitioner lanced it without telling me. I hit the ceiling. The second time it happened I knew what it was and soaked in a hot bath for a few days and it went away. anna

I've found a lump!!!!

I did have cancer in that location and it was a large swelling but completely painless. So, if yours is red and painful it hopefully isn't anything serious. But glad you got a sooner appt.

I've found a lump!!!!

I went in on Friday to have my first follow up pap after hyster, and Dr. said the lump is just a cyst, Thank God! He has sceduled me for an ultrasound today, to check ovaries since i am still having a lot of pelvic pressure and pain, also scheduled me to see a gastroenterologist on the 30th due to continuing bowel problems. Thanks for all your input and prayers! Hope all is well with everyone. Happy Healing!

I've found a lump!!!!

Hey kelpn,
Do not panic. I understand your fear however make your appointment. you know about early detection. Last nite I did a breast exam and to my surprise white fluid caqme out of my nipples( havent been pregnant in 23 yrs). So I to am scared to hear the C word again. Tommorrow I will let my doc know despite the fear. Hold on sister. Pray about it to God incessantly. We can not allow fear to dominate our lives.

Ultrasound Not so good

I went for my ultrasound yesterday, it showed multiple "cysts", 7 to be exact, and the ovary was 2 times the normal size, left ovary was fine. Not all of them were fluid filled, i watched. The tech wrote on the bottom of my report "follow up strongly suggested". Doc gave me a shot of depo prevara in hopes of shrinking them, if they are in fact cysts. I go back in 6 weeks for another scan of the right ovary, and if they aren't any better he will do a CA-125. Thanks to all of you for your support and prayers. I pray that you all are healing well!
