Back to work ladies??

are there any ladies who are back at work on your feet all day??? i'm dreading going back to waiting tables they need me this month to fill in. its about a 4 1/2 to 5 hour shift. i tried to go back at 8wks but was soooo exhausted that my boss put me on call and i haven't gone back. it took me about 18 hours to recover from that shift. any suggestions as to how i can get through my day?? i'm kinda freaking out about it.

Back to work ladies??

I am dreading going back to work as well - especially since I am on my feet for 9-10 hrs per day! I am a vet tech and while I only work 4 days a week it is exhausting *without* having had surgery - I can't imagine what it will be like for me after having had it. Might be looking for another line of work. <sigh>

Back to work ladies??

I'm worried about working too. Different kind of stress though. I have to drive at least 40 minutes one way to wherever I go and then I have to have my brain all there. I am an interpreter so I am not necessarily on my feet but my mind has to be able to process. I did my first little job on monday night and I even got a ride there and back. The woman I was working for knew i had had surgery and was supportive but it felt like I was working through a fog.

Back to work ladies??

Hey there Lovebird, Ya know they are shorthanded...they need you more than they need you, you are doing them a favor...what are they gonna give you? Job security? Is it worth getting hurt or having set back? Trust me, I understand restaurant business cut throat...they are only trying to CY their own A, not yours. If you do return, please please have them agree to help you carry out the trays of dishes, you are doing plenty just by taking and placing the order, getting their drinks and visiting your tables, having someone to carry out the tray only takes a minute...clearing the table one to two dish ata time.

mmsg1968, I can't believe that you are returning to work already, you had yours 13days after mine....yikes! I was almost in trouble yesterday because my girls weren't helpful in pushing a shopping cart, it was a heavy one too, I was out and about doing errands from 930am till 12:30pm...3 hours with shopping last as the last agenda, I was cautious on everything I did, but my abs, I felt it was screaming at me...it started to cringe with light cramps...got home and went straight to bed.
All I'm saying is, Vet, they are in the medical field...they should know the time it takes and the idea of how difficult the healing process would be. I believe they need to switch you to light duty. Best of luck to you.
