Hi Ladies,

I'm back !! I am still waiting for June 12th TAH !! My schedule is on Monday's to clean the house, however; I am having a very hard time this morning !!! The pain is getting unbearable !!! I am not suppose to start till next week but the two weeks prior is awful !!!!! I hurt sooooo much, I cleaned the shower this morning and my stomach which is sore and swollen is KILLING ME !!!!! I don't know how much more housework I will get done !!! Thankfully the house is not too bad. My kids are 16 and 13 years old so they keep their rooms clean. I did get the bathrooms cleaned. I really need to vacuum but don't know if I can handle the pain !! I know I really am not alone here, but I just needed to whine and vent !!!! You ladies are great !! I am so glad I found this website. My DH is going to get his laptop setup for me during my recovery so I can stay in touch. My boys will not be here when I have surgery. Oldest goes to Texas to grandma's and youngest goes to other grandma's. That will help my DH, just having me to care for. I am just not wanting to get bored !!!
I am such an independent woman, I HATE for anyone to do anything for me !!!! I did buy the new John Grisham and Mary Higgins Clark books for reading ! But it won't take long for me to ready those.

I really like all the information I am getting. I am starting to make a list for the castle, I want pictures of my boys so I can look at them. Hopefully my DH will bring the laptop to the castle and I can email my boys to let them know I'm okay.
Well, I really need to go now. I have to finish this housework so I can go relax in the pool. Since I won't be able to for 4 weeks, I have to lounge in my chair.

Have a great day Ladies !!!!

Thanks again for all your support !!! I'm not alone !!!

Good luck with your procedure.I am sure everything will go well. Just remember how well you will feel eventually.It has got to be better than you feel now!

I really hope you feel better soon. Perhaps you could look at the housework this way: it is high time your boys learned to vacuum and clean the bathroom so they'll be prepared to function in the real world. This is your opportunity to train and teach them. Do you see the difference between this and having them do your housework for you?

Do try to take it easy leading up to your surgery as well as after. It'll be good practice. Just get in the pool now. The rugs will still be ratty long after your surgery if you know what's good for you. They can only get so bad anyway.

Your boys are 13 and 16? They can't push a vacuum or use a spray bottle and sponge???? They will be better adult men for it.

Try visiting a used book store and stocking up on books. I'm a fast reader and when people asked what I needed I said reading material. Instead of flowers I got gift certificates to Borders Books. I had a nightstand drawer full of stuff to read. Also, visiting the local library right before surgery can help. I don't think you have to have them back for a month. You'll be able to drive by then.

How long will you be in the hospital? You might not even feel up to using your lap top. Sleep will be a top priority and sometimes not even an option the first couple of days. Hubby can't send the boys a message?

Take care. Stock your refrig. with non-carbonated beverages for when you are lounging.
Hugs,
Miranda

Hi There,

Thanks for the replies ! Yes, my boys do housework ! They wash dishes every night, clean their own rooms and their bathroom. I just have to clean my bathroom on Monday's. My wonderful DH told me NOT to vacuum, he would do it when he gets home. My boys also help cook meals. I just have a routine that I've done for years and it's frustrating when I can't do simply things. Thanks again for the replies. I am just having a bad morning ! I can't wait for them to be over !!!!

a princess never vacuums

Haven't you heard? A princess is never allowed to push a vacuum cleaner. That is a hard and fast rule. One gal had a doc who even told her never to do dishes again, since she had a hysterectomy. Really. Housework is passe anyhow. You will be too busy polishing your crown and inspecting the many lovely jewels encrusting it's frame.

Your wonderful royal subjects, er, family, can learn to push a vacuum, do dishes, and everything else. My 8 year old BOY learned how to brew mom the perfect cup of tea. My 14 year old BOY can make chocolate chip cookies from scratch. DH knows his way around with a dustmop, what more does a girl need?

Good luck with everything, keep up your spirits and remember you have the most important job of all - NO ONE ELSE CAN RECOVER FOR YOU, YOU HAVE TO DO IT FOR YOURSELF. And that means, NO HOUSEWORK!

Have fun,

Royally yours,

Mary aka Tino

You may do the following:

* Plump your pillows
* Choose regal reading material
* Grant a royal pardon and allow the dust bunnies to run free
* Adorn your royal recuperation area
* Select non-carbonated beverages suited for a Princess' palate then send the Royal Consort to get enough to stock two entire shelves of the royal refrig
* Purchase new royal sleeping robes
* Assign specific tasks to your subjects so each one doesn't think the other subject was supposed to do it thereby causing petty problems for the Princess
* Practice resting royally by getting a guided imagery tape and doing some royal relaxation exercises, visualizing being crowned and how beautiful you will be

Hugs,
Miranda
