My 1 year anniversary

Hello Ladies!
I just wanted to announce that May 10th was the 1 year anniversary for my LAVH.
It has been a GREAT year!! Everything is back ot normal- I have never felt better in my life!! I can not believe that all my tiredness and terrible feeling were all linked to this. So to all of my hyster sisters who offered all the advise in the past year. Thanks!!!!!

Thank you Lisa for your encouraging words. I am almost there too. It is really wonderful to be over the troubles that i was having a year ago!

Happy Anniversary! Mine was May 12. This was the best year I've had in ages! Except for having a longer than usual recovery, I am a lucky one. I was put on the climara patch day after surgery and except for a few night sweats (after which dose was raised, now OK) I have never had any memopausal problems. I'm able to plan vacations and enjoy life now since I no longer have to worry about pain,flooding and always having to "be prepared" for the unexpected. I'm actually wearing white pants for the first time in my life! I have no regrets at all except that I didn't do it sooner. My whole outlook on life has changed and everyone I know have been saying that I am a new person. I don't know what lies down life's road for me in the future, but the here and now is great! I FEEL FREE!

I can't thank you enough for posting. It's my favorite kind of message. It helps me hang in there. I can't wait until I am posting a 1-year report on how great I feel. I bought a pair of white pants on the day before my surgery. I am looking forward to my belly getting less tender so I can wear them. I'm so happy for you. Thanks again for writing such an encouraging message.

Carm, it makes me feel good to know that I helped someone. The thing that I learned while recovering is to have a good attitude, no matter what. If I was having one of my bad days (which there were many) I would always say to myself " One day at a time". For every day that went by I said " 1 more behind me, 1 more closer to feeling better". Before I knew it, I was saying it less and less until I didn't have to say it anymore. I can't believe 1 year has gone by already. Mary

How wonderful to read your upbeat post! It's such an encouragement to the newer sisters, many of whom are just realizing that the recovery is longer than they thought it would be.

Thanks so much for your post! My SAH is scheduled for May 22nd and the thought of feeling so much better next summer is what is keeping me going right now. I too have been very tired for a long time and did not realized how ready I was until the day got closer.
