Overnight only?

I am reading several posts where sisters have mentioned being in the hospital more than just overnight. I am having a Vaginal done and they are taking the whole package overies and all. Is that the reason they would only keep me overnight is that I wont have an tummy insion? it is no invasive is what I think you would call it? Can you request to stay in longer if you don't feel comfortable going home the next day when you know no one will be with you?

when i had my vh it was on a thursday and i went home on sat. I am sure that if your not comfortable to go home next day they would let you stay . share your concerns with doc before you go into surgery. Best of luck and take care

Overnight only?

I only stayed in the hospital overnight with my TVH. Our hospital stays all vary from woman to woman. If you aren't comfortable or ready to go home when the time comes, please discuss it with your doctor.

Overnight only?

My TVH is scheduled for tomorrow (yikes!) and I have been told I'll be in the hospital only overnight. I actually think I'll heal better if I'm home with my family in my own surroundings BUT if I'm not comfortable with it then I will, for sure, talk with my doctor about it.

I'm assuming you've had your pre-op appt with him/her already. Did he say anything? Maybe you could call on Monday and ask if it is normal and what the guidelines for staying longer are.

Anyway, good luck with your surgery! See you on the other side!

Overnight only?

I only stayed one night. I came home with a catheter I was so desperate to sleep in my own bed. I'm sure you could convince them you need to stay longer. Good luck with your surgery.

Overnight only?

Insurance plays a large part in all of this. For you to stay more than one night, there will have to be a medical reason. When I had my son, it was a vaginal delivery so insurance pays for one night. Since he was 12 pounds, my doctor reported to the insurance company that it was not a normal delivery and I got to stay an extra night.

Overnight only?

At my pre-op last wednesday I was told they try to get you home after 1 night. They said it all depends on how well you are doing and if you are able to be on oral meds. No rush though. I prefer to be at home. When I had my gallbladder removed, they kept me overnight for some unknown reason. I got to stay in a pediatric room with stars on the ceiling. Made for a interesting night with the morphine!!! Don't stress over it, the dr will do what is right for you.

Overnight only?

I had the abdominal cut and truly could have gone home the next day. I would have been way more comfy - that's for sure.

Overnight only?

I had my surgery at 1pm Thursday. Made it to recovery at 4:30 and to my room at 5:30. I was ready to go home by noon Friday but my dr. didn't agree. He made me stay until 9am Saturday. I think it all depends on the dr. and the insurance company.
