Ovulation Pain?
I'm 2 and a half weeks post-op from TAH and my ovaries are still there. I've been having increasing pain on my left side, extremely reminiscent of ovarian cysts from the past.
It would be about right in my cycle to be ovulating now, since I had my surgery a few days before I would have had a period. Maybe my ovary doesn't like ovulating after such trauma. Anyone experience something similar?
My doctor wasn't much help. I have a big lump next to my incision there that she thought was a blood clot and even tried to drain incase it was an abcess, but I'm wondering if I should push for an ultrasound. My doctor was very "whatever" about it. But it's so much more pain (and sharper) than it was the first week post-op.

Ovulation Pain?
At about thre weeks post op, I had ovulation pain. What was really strange about it was, I only have one ovary left, so it only hurt on the one side. Doesn't sound strange to you, I know...but I have gone nearly all of my adult life thinking I had BACK problems...then, with ovulation post hyst, it was like someone had drawn a line down the center of my back, and my back pain was just on the one side. I was so relieved just to know I dont have back trouble, just really rebellious female gear.
My second bout of ovualtion was much easier...so yes, it may be trauma from surgery. My real concern is your docs attitude. i wouldn't jump to leave him just yet, but definitely keep a log of your pain (where, when, how long, describe it). If it happens next month, I reccomend presenting your log to him.
I went in for things totally unrelated to ovaries(I thought) and ended up losing one, with the second one just on loan until it decides to go kaput.
good luck to you..and I definitely reccomend keeping a log of the pain...docs cant argue with data. and if he does, get a second opinion, ask for an ultrasound. You have come this far, do not suffer any more than you have to.
