I know how scary it is. I am in a panic about my upcoming surgery . It will be # 6 for me so you would think I'd be used to it .
I am in CA also and my upcoming surgery is at Loma Linda not far from Riverside. I see from the date you have three days to go. I will say a prayer for a uneventful surgery and a rapid recovery!
Hugs and blessings

Hi! I am in Mission Viejo a little south and west of you in Orange County. I also had three c-sections before having this surgery. I really feel pretty much recovered at this point and my life, energy level etc. have returned to normal. It is very scary, but having had the c-sections you already know what it is like to recover from major surgery and it sounds like you have wonderful support from your husband. You will need that help for awhile. Eventually you will feel better. For me I was in so much pain before the surgery that I actually felt so much better pretty much right away. If you've been exploring hystersisters then you probably have discovered the checklists etc. to help you prepare. It didn't necessarily ease my fear, but it helped me feel better prepared going into it. Good luck to you!

Smile - Anyone in southern california 7 days post op

i'm 7 dys postop, the surg was very quick, shorter time than they expected, and the post op pain was not bad... i had a lap hyst. (hospital was very nice)
the main problem after (& even now) is the 'gas/bloat' problem , plenty of gas-x (if yr doc o.'k.'s it) comes in very handy & hot water bottle!!! this worked wonders for me
good luck & god bless, prayers your way, i used the prepare for surg & heal faster /book & and had a tape recoder with me in the O.R. suite, the doc said it was O.K. , i really think this helped towards my recovery, and i went home before lunch the next day .........

Anyone in southern california

Hi!

I'm new here, just registered today, and am from Chino, California. I'm scheduled for a laporoscopic vaginal hysterectomy on Oct. 9. I've also had 3 c-sections. With my last one I remember the gas trouble traveling to my shoulder to where I couldn't move it. Hope that doesn't happen this time. I'm curious though, with having a prior c-section, why wouldn't they just go in that way instead of creating new three new scars?

I read your post which was 11 days pre op. I hope everything went well. I had two c sections, then 19 months ago a complete hysterectomy with removal of 6 lymph nodes because of uterine cancer. 28 sessions of radiation followed. Anyway, I'm doing well. I hope your recovery goes well and complete.
