Interesting pictures link- real pics of uterus, cervix, fibroids etc

I know all women have different views and feelings etc about their hysterectomies... I am one of those who pretty much looked at my hysterectomy as a good thing (tho scary ) and I was/am so interested in exactly how they did it and what things actually looked like rather than seeing a drawing.

I was a fruit loop at my one week post op appt and once my Dr told me I had significant scarring on my bladder etc my mind went completely blank and I forgot all my question(Im making a list to take back to my 5 wk appt).
Apparently my bladder and bowel were 'stuck' various places and they had to fix that- which is part of the reason my bladder and bowel were sluggish.

I wanted to know exactly where all my organs were/are situated in my body so I decided to do a search online so I wouldnt have to wait til week 5 to ask my Dr to draw me a diagram of all this.

I found a site that shows actual pictures after a surgery... I found it to be very interesting and it gave me a better 'view' of my own body and the problems I was having.

I dont know if Im allowed to post a link to the site here (so I wont).

The pictures are surgery pictures of various procedures and various types of hysterectomies so they are VERY GRAPHIC. They include pics of: uterus, cervix, ovaries, adhesions, endometriosis, fibroids, vainal cuff etc

Me too, please! I watched the TVH video on obgyn.net before my surgery - really helped me understand what they were going to do.

wpwinnut, I think that I watched that same video. I had my TVH on Monday. I am not bothered by these things and it made me all the more appreciative for the advanced skills that my physician has to perform this type of surgery. Back in April when I had my ablation, D&C, etc. he took pictures and showed them to both DH and I. Hmmm... I am thinking that it was not quite DHs favorite thing ; )

I added the link to the first post. Normally we do not allow members to start a discussion for the purpose of providing a link. However, this is something that comes up frequently and it is helpful to those who want to see.

The link was also added to our resource directory.
