patutes,
I did have that for quite some time post op. Doctor said it was the nerves regenerating. It never hurts to give the doctor a call and let him/her know about this symptom. I think it's best to let the doctor know about these things.

Thank you for the response, did it last for weeks ,mos, ? I hope not too much longer, going to florida in sept. and Im affraid I wont be able to wear regular clothes. I did see the doc on fri. and she said the same as you ,but she never saw anyone with it as severe as mine, ice should help. I know its not a danger or anything like that so I might just have to wear what I can and deal with it I guess. Im so frustrated at this point, I shouldnt be its only been 3 and a half weeks. Thank you again stay intouch poopy patutes

Hi - I had that same sensitivity as well. I couldn't stand my clothing touching my belly, so I wore spandex boy briefs. They helped prevent loose clothing from brushing up against my belly and really helped support my belly. I had this sensation for a good 5 weeks. I am now in my 6th week and it has really decreased. Hope it does for you soon also.

I had that all over tummy feeling early in recovery late in the afternoon early evening and would lay on the bed with nothing over my tummy and the ceiling fan on. Now at almost 11 weeks -- I still get a spot on my upper right tummy that is very sensitive and kinda has a slight burning sensation to it. Rubbing it doesn't make it worse or better, but I catch myself rubbing it during the day. I guess that is the nature of the beast - if it bothers us - rub it to see if it makes a difference. I have also notice it gets this feeling later in the day when I get the swelly belly and i'm tired. Hopefully it will get past whatever it isa doing in there and Quit feeling like this soon! It is driving me crazy.

I know what you mean! Mine was more severe on my left hand side and extended into my pubic bone. The worst was my left groin where my undies hit. UGGHH!! I noticed every day it seemed to get a tiny bit better so it makes it a bit easier to cope.

I still have some funky sensations in those areas, but not too hypersensitive at this point (3 weeks).

Definately keep in mind that we all heal at different rates, I know, my incision isn't healing the best!

Keep your chin up and keep the doc updated.
