lump

Hello all.

I found a lump about 3 weeks ago at the 11 o'clock position on my right breast. I had a mammo and ultrasound this morning. The radiologist said I have dense breast tissue there and it is causing my lobule to be pushed so I can feel it. He said it could come and go with my cycle, which I informed him I don't do.

I was relieved.

My question to you all is has anyone else experienced this? He said it is pretty common. And it is tender especially when I lay on it. Does anyone have any thoughts on what might help the tenderness?

Thanks for you thoughts.

Jamie

Hi Jamie Did the radiologist mention the term 'fibrocystic breasts' to you? It sounds like that may be the trouble. It tends to show up as denser areas on a mammogram. The cysts come and go, may be hormone related, are worsened by unopposed estrogen, and can hurt. They are not related to breast cancer, though.

You might ask your DR about trying progesterone for the fibrocystic breasts. Dr. Lee talks about it in his book "What Your Doctor Might Not Tell You About Breast Cancer".

I hope this helps!
