Single sided breast growth, tenderness and "waxy" discharge
I've always had large (& dense) breasts but over the past 6 months my left breast has grown almost 2 cup sizes. In addition, it's very tender and I see "whiteheads" (for lack of a better term) in my nipple that come out if I lightly squeeze them. At my mammogram in the spring, the tech was unable to get a good film, so she followed up with an u/s that showed breast density but no suspicious areas. Since my tissue is dense and lumpy anyway, it's hard to tell if there are any changes
Has anyone else experienced this, and at what point do I become concerned? I'm not losing sleep over it, but it's frustrating to have to deal with the backaches and the inability to find bras that fit.

 Ary,
I have always had whiteheads on my nipples. I don't think you're suppose to be squeezing them, although I confess that I have on occassion. None of my doctors have ever been concerned about them. I am not sure if there is a reason for concern if they suddenly show up. Have you asked your doctor about this? If you haven't, I think you should. It's always best to ask the expert.
What does your doctor say about the increase in breast size? Are you having any other hormone issues? I have seen threads here where women have reported that their breast size has increased after the hysterectomy.

Thanks for your response Kim. My doctor doesn't seem overly concerned about either the whiteheads or the growth. She said since the growth was even throughout the breast, it was unlikely that it was a tumor. And I've never actually pointed out the whiteheads, but since she has examined my breasts, I'm sure she's seen them.
I don't have any hormone issues that I know of, especially since my hyst. I kept my ovaries, and have no symptoms of menopause (thank god!).
I guess the change in size is more of a nuisance than anything. I can't find bras that fit and I'm afraid of developing back problems.
I appreciate the reassurance. Thanks for your response.
