Just an Update

Hi everyone and to this wonderful site and members who are helping me keep whats left of my sanity. Wednesday morn (23rd) I received a call from my ob/gyn offices and the message was my ob/gyn said you will not be waiting the required 90 days(hospital waiting list) and that I will be having my D&C, hysteroscopy and edemetrial biopsy much sooner I felt like a weight had been lifted off me. I have an appointment with the anathesist(spelling?) on the 7 Sept as I have various other medical problems which needs to be discussed and all systems go. I saw my GP yesterday and my blood tests were not as bad as I feared. There are cell changes in my pap smear but she said nothing of great concern yet. I have to go back on the Primolut N even though I break out in hives till my procedures. I'm on an antihistamine and she put me on a steroid based tablet for 3 days to fight against the hives. I was not supposed to start the Primolut N till Sunday to give the other tablets a chance to work but the bleeding was so intense. I went through 30 pads in 10 hours. At one stage I was bleeding so bad soaking through five pads in 10 minutes I felt myself starting to go into shock so I immediately took a Primolut and laid down with my feet up. By midnight last night and 2nd tablet taken (they are taken 8 hourly) I had nearly stopped bleeding So after a horrible day of intense bleeding and pain I'm feeling much better. So after my procedures I may be able to put things in context and know where to go from there. thanks again for all your compassion and support. Evvie

Just an Update

I sure hope they can solve your problems soon --- that is an incredible amount of bleeding. Forgive me for being naive as I'm not sure how it works in Australia but in Canada, I would have gone to the ER. I had to do that in May and won't hesitate to go again if need be. Can you go to the ER for care when you are having so much trouble??

I know I should have gone

I know I should have gone to the ER I think it works pretty much the same here as it does in Canada. The only problem was I would have gone to the ER and sat on a cold hard chair for about 6 to 8 hours before I would be seen so I took the tablet and tried to stay still to see if it would ease off which it did. If it had not within the hour I would have rung for an ambulance and gone straight there. I've started bleeding again this morning but nowhere like yesterday it will take a couple of days for it to completely stop and I will be taking the tablets till I have my procedures. Evvie

Yes, sometimes the ER can be a looong wait! I was extremely fortunate in May when I arrived. I was triaged, put in a room, examined by a Dr, had an IV and was cross-matched in case of transfusion --- all within 45 min.!!! That's the way an ER should work - but I know that 6 hr waits are not uncommon here either!
You take care and if you want to PM me, feel free!
