Am I crazy?

Had my hysterectomy (TVH) on 08-22-06. I am feeling great. I keep on thinking something is wrong because i'm not in enough pain. I know that sounds crazy. I've heard from people that I would be laid up for weeks and the pain would be unbearable. I am finding it hard to lay around and relax and not do housework because honestly I am feeling just as I did before the surgery, other than slight pressure down south and horrible gas. Oh, and I do get more tired quicker than usual. I keep on thinking, the calm before the storm. Any input would be great.

Am I crazy?

That is great that you are feeling good. Just remember your body is healing and don't over do it. I felt really good and set myself back by pushing it when I felt good. Pamper yourself because soon people will count on you to be your own self.

Am I crazy?

I recovered quickly too. I think it has to do with your overall fitness. But STILL take it easy and follow Dr's orders..when I overdid it I paid, usually the next day. People are still amazed at how well I am doing now at 9 weeks post op. Hang in there.

Am I crazy?

Just be careful not to overdo. That can cause internal damage that can't be fixed by just laying low for a day or two. You don't want to set yourself back...remember as they say...you only get one chance to heal right.

Blessings,
Paula

Am I crazy?

My doctor told me after my BAH TSO that I would have good days, and days when I felt I just came home from the hospital. He was right. I knew my limitations and laid low on the days I wasn't feeling good. I am now almost 4 weeks post surgery, and still have good days and bad days. It's really hard to keep from doing things around the house when you're having those good days...I washed my kitchen floor and waxed it 2 weeks post op....I learned my lesson the hard way. Just don't overdo and let people help you. How often do people just pitch in??? Take advantage of it. Wishes for a speedy recovery!

Am I crazy?

I am the same way, I felt like I had nothing done by the 3rd day. I told my doc at 2 week check up that if I didn't know better I would have thought she pumped me with gas and sent me home. I still made myself do nothing cause I did not want a set back. People were also amazed at how fast I felt normal. I did get pains in my right side right below ribcage and down a little lower at 3 weeks but nothing to complain about really. Never did take a pain pill. Just remember to do nothing still, nomatter how good you feel. You still have to heal.

Am I crazy?

I was lucky as well and now it's been over four months and still nothing. I went on patches after a month and they appear to be working as well. I had about ten years of pain which has gone and now I can exercise properly (started doing a DVD combat training last week). I've also gone down a dress size but as I was cut vertically from bellybutton down still have to work on those stomach muscles. So many people told me not to have the op but from my side I wish I had done it years ago and no periods yeah! I do think this is rare though as alot of people seem to have so many problems with surgery and post op and getting used to HRT.
Take care

Am I crazy?

Rahcel, girlfriend, count your blessings but take it easy. My TVH, BSO was 8/22 as well and I feel like I've been hit with the big truck! I was in good physical shape prior to surgery so that's not it. I guess we are all just different. I've got a UTI so I'm sure that's got a lot to do with why I feel so bad. Just take care of yourself and don't overdo it.
