vaginal pressure/pain
I'm almost 7 weeks post op. I have vaginal pressure/pain, especially if I'm more active. After doing a few errands, I've had it. I did have a vaginal prolapse which wasn't able to be repaired during TAH due to dense adhesions. Doc thought things might right themselves now that uterus is out of the way. At 6 week check up, doc said prolapse was definitely improved but not completely better. She was surprised I was having this discomfort. I'm supposed to go back to work but am nervous because my work involves alot of walking and lifting (I'm a nurse). I don't want to do anything which will make pain worse but also don't want to be a slug. Anyone else experience anything like this or have any suggestions???!!!
Thanks, Nicklebe

You're a nurse, I'm sure you tell your patients, "don't do anything that hurts". You're not being a slug. You just had major abdominal surgery.
Your doctor said it isn't completely better, but a little better. I would think, logically, that your pain is the same way, not completely better, but getting there.
Don't be afraid to tell the doctor that you need more time. It's that simple. They don't walk in your shoes, nor go through your day. It isn't up to them to say, "you're out of luck" or "you're healed". Be persistent, until you feel the time is right.
By the way, I don't have much love for nurses right now. Still bitter over the way I was treated in the hospital - but I won't take it out on a fellow sister!!

You need more time and don't be afraid to say so. Here in the uk we are not expected to be backl to 'normal' until 3 months, esp with a job like nursing.
Take care with heavy lifting if you have a prolapse as lifting is likely to make it worse.
Take care. You are not a slug!!
