Question about Swelly Belly Band

I just got my swelly belly band yesterday, and I love it, but I have trouble with it not staying cold for very long. Since I'm only 4 days post op, I can't get my incision wet, and the band is wrapped in plastic wrap. Could that be the issue? Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated.

I love the swelly belly band, too! In my experience, it stays cold for about an hour (using plastic wrap). I suppose you could try freezing it and wearing some extra layers between it and your belly.

The company that makes them says that for the best "cooling power" they need to have the air hitting them, so if they're in a bag they won't cool as well. Something I tried when I needed cool relief was putting plastic wrap between me and the Band (it works the best if it's just on you and hitting the open air).

I used the plastic mostly when I didn't want wet clothes, and especially when I needed the support when I was riding in the car.
