Without HRT for the long weekend...

Hi all,

I got so busy with my new job and other things that I forgot to schedule an appointment with my GYN and didn't get my prescription renewed for Femring. So now I am spending this long, holiday weekend without any HRT.

I know intellectually that I will be fine, but I feel afraid of the unknown that can happen with the menopausal symptoms. Is that weird that I would be a little afraid?

Surely, I shouldn't experience anything too drastic for the next few days? I just don't know what to expect. This is the first time I've not had any HRT since my Hyst in 2002.

I think I just need someone to tell me it's going to be ok until Tuesday.

You should be fine. I was on the Femring and took it out on ocaision for a day or two (just curious to know how i'd do without it). I am using the NuvaRing right now and seemed to be getting into a depressed state this past week. So, I removed it yesterday to see what would happen. So far, no menopause symptoms have hit me!

Lori,
Hopefully you will be fine. Many years ago, I had a family emergency and had to go out of town. As I was packing, I realized I forgot to get my scripts refilled for my hormones. I was in a panic, but there wasn't much that I could do. I did make it, without too many symptoms and I learned a lesson and have never ever forgot to renew my scripts again! Good luck!

Thanks you guys. I was REALLY tired last night and slept well. I feel fine today.

You are so right, Kim. I have learned a very important lesson. It's sad how we let things get in the way of taking care of ourselves. I think I have been last on my list for way too long!
