Hi everyone

I've not been back into the site for ages - good to see that it is still providing fantastic help for those having to face their operations and the recovery time afterwards.

My operation was 5 years ago today. I can still recall, with minute detail, the pre-op/post-op phase (the fact that 9/11 was exactly one week after it has also been a factor!) Just wanted to say that life post-hysterectomy is great. I am still on HRT (Hormonin has really worked for me) but probably will come off fairly soon. Could do with a stone less weight, and faintly regret not having a tummy-tuck, but otherwise, am working full-time, have a very active life and laugh a lot.

So, to any of my Hyster-Sisters who are finding things a struggle, hang on in there - there is still a great time to be had - go and enjoy and take comfort from the knowledge that there are thousands of women just like you who understand what you are going through and want to help.

Hi there! Congratulations on your 5th year ! I was happy to see how you are doing. I'm over 2 years and doing ok . You sound so positive and upbeat , it was nice of you to share. All the best to you and your loved ones.
