Back and feeling marvelous

Can you believe anyone would say such a thing? I can(especially for me). Since last October I have been feeling so bad. The pain and bleeding had gotten out of control. I spent a lot of time searching for answers and this site has been a Godsend for me. The friends and support are so precious. I am blessed with good fortune and lucky in other ways too! After much research on the issue, the time for my surgery got closer. My doctor called and said she needed an answer..."do we leave the ovaries or not?"...I gave my consent to take them. The surgery took a couple of hours. When I awoke the nurse said "A laparoscopical/supracervical hysterectomy, you are so lucky, I have been trying to get the doctor to give me one!" When the doctor came to visit me she said there was endometriosis on the left ovary and tube and adhesions that attached to the bowel; she freed them which will be a great relief for me as I always had trouble during special times of the month in particular. She said the right ovary had some discoloration and I said "I feel I made the right decision." I did make the right decision. I came home after two nights. I walked the hallways in the hospital so much the nurses said I should come back and work there! But all kidding aside I am taking great comfort in knowing that I am on the road to recovery with my Ibuprophen, Climara patch, and a box of See's Candies. Thank you Hystersisters!

That's great news, Gail. Now don't overdo it just because you feel so well. You still have quite a bit of anesthesia in you that may be disguising the discomfort. No matter what method of hysterectomy one has, rest is of the utmost importance.

Lots of hugs,
