Ovaries painful 2 years out

I had a hysterectomy in 2004 but kept both ovaries. Occassionally I have alot of pain in my right ovary area similiar to ovulation pain from before the surgery. Some times it gets so bad I can barely walk and I have had to miss work. Anyone else have this problem? It isn't every month, just 3 4 times a year.

Terri,
Is the pain cyclical? In other words does it happen at about the same time each month when it does happen. A hyst is not a cure for PMS, so it's possible that your ovaries are cycling, not every month, but every few months. If the pain is so bad that you cannot walk, you really should give your doctor a call.

I agree with (((Kim))). If the pain is bad enough that it makes it difficult to walk you should give your doctor a call.

I had my LAVH in 2002 and have to go back to have the right overy removed in 2004 - - if you keep the ovaries there is always a chance to develop cysts.

Ovaries painful 2 years out

I had a partial 4-5 yrs ago and few months after the surgery I started having pains in my left ovary. The gyn had left endo their, because it was hard to get.The pain was to the point the doc gave me medication for it.Times the pain was so bad I could hardly move either.I started getting pains in my right ovary.Anyways I did get to the gyn and he said he would do a Laproscopy (I had 6 days ago)to clean endo.I was suppose to see him after recovery which I didn't,so I made myself an appointment to go in.My appointment is on Dec 6th.I will let you know what was done.I had the same pain for 2 days now in left ovary that I had before I went in.I don't understand that does anyone know why that is.

You may be having cysts. I agree a trip to the dr is in order. I would ask for a vaginal ultrasound.

Cool - Ovaries painful 2 years out Ovaries painful 2 years out

This may sound strange, but on wed , I went to see my GYN for the same problem... This past June I had my left ovary and tube removed but I had been having major cramping and sensations just like having a cyst. She said that sometimes the ovary that is left will possibly develop cysts and the weight of the cysts will tug on your female parts and it can cause the same symptoms, when part of the organs are gone everything is off balance.. In my case that is exactly what happened. Every one is different but I wanted to share my story with all of you.
