question: hematoma draining through incision

I have a hematoma that began draining through the incision after the staples were removed on day 8. I spoke to my dr and she was not concerned once she determined that it was the hematoma rather than a bleed. She did not instruct me to try to express the hematoma myself, but put my mind at ease about the drainage.

However, it is now day 21. The drainage has slowed considerably, but it has not quite stopped. This means that small part of the incision has not healed. At three weeks out, is this something I should be overly concerned about? Has anyone out there been in a similar position? How did it resolve?

Thanks in advance for sharing.

Linda

question: hematoma draining through incision

I am sorry you are still dealing with a hematoma and an incision that has not healed. Have you spoke with your recently about how your incision is still draining? I know there have been other women on the site with incision issues, you might want to use the search tab at the upper, right of your screen to search for other threads discussing incisions and/or hematomas.

in there and many best wishes to you!
