embarrassing vaginal odor

This is SUCH an embarrassing topic!!! But I didn't know who else to ask, you know? I had a LAVH/BSO just over a year ago. Three or four months ago, I started noticing a very sharp, odd vaginal odor...almost as if I had peed on myself. At first it was just once in a while, but now it's almost constant. I do have interstitial cystitis since the hyst, and have some bladder issues when I sneeze or cough hard, but that odor is there even on days when that's not happening. Has anyone else out there had this happen? It's just weird and very embarrassing...I bathe at least once a day, but I'm so hyper-aware of it lately that it's really difficult for me to enjoy naked time with my lover.

Please help! And thanks in advance!

embarrassing vaginal odor

Yes, I am going through the same thing now and it is quite embarassing... I am not sure if others can smell it but I sure can.. I have talked to the doctor and he thinks I need to take a test and check out my bladder... I just really am not ready to deal with anything else going wrong... I thought I was on the road to recovery.... good luck to you!

can help you with the odor, although it could be bacterial related? I wanted to respond about the bladder issue sneez/cough. Prior to my surgery doc asked if I had that problem and I said yes. So he had to insert a hammock to lift the euretha, he found it had fallen so dramaticlly that the nerve endings where hanging straight and their suppose to loop up so he had to put them back in proper positon. Keep us posted on how your doing and what doc says... Hugs.. vickie
