lower back pain

Anyone else have lower back pain? I have so much to do and yet with the pain in my lower back am not able to do much of anything. I can't seem to get comfortable and the heating pad is not really helping. Any suggestions on how to alleviate the pain or just how to get comfortable?

lower back pain

I had terrible lower back pain after even walking a short distance. I brief trip to the grocery store killed me. I blamed a back injury from my teens, even though I never had back problems until recent years. I learned shortly before my surgery that lower back pain is often a side effect of gyn problems. I took my pain meds, used a heating pad both front and back, and just tried to cope with it by limiting activity.

Today, I am day 12 post op and while I am still having some back pain, it is nowhere near as bad as what I had pre op. The residual pain I have (according to doctor) is typical while healing from the repair work that was done, and should subside shortly.

The best I can tell you is heat, pain meds, and taking it easy help the most. Hang in there - you will be on the other side soon and I bet you will notice a big improvement post op. Good luck!

lower back pain

I too am having so much pain and pressure abdomen and back. Last night as I was dying, I tried an ice pack on front and back after reading that some of the pain may be r/t blood pooling (trapped). Wow! It helped so much more than heat. I actually went to sleep on the couch with both packs applied. Finally sleep! Good luck!

I get the back pain too!
I have one of those microwave pad thingy's that I keep in the freezer instead and use it -- helps A LOT!! Try cold instead of heat.

lower back pain

Today has been a hard day for me. I feel so swollen in my stomach and that is putting pressure on my lower back. I've sat everywhere I could in my home today and even pulled out the guest air mattress and I could not get comfortable.

Pre-op tomorrow and surgery friday. I am so ready to be rid of this mess!
