My birthday today....

I got an automated response earlier and wanted to thank you for that.

It feels weird to have my 33rd b-day and know that I'm loosing what I've had for 33 yrs on the 22nd. I'm not really grieving about it per say but I am just stuck on that thought for some reason.

I'm sure it's normal thinking about losing your parts as you are. I am 45 and my kids are both grown, 21 and 25, so I was finished a long time ago with having kids and I don't think anything about losing my womanly parts. You're younger and I'm sure it makes you think.

I think its the thought of going through menopause so early thats really getting to me.

Whats weird is that I've been having hot flashes the past month or so anyway. Maybe my estrogen is low already. Who knows?

I too have had some funky heat stuff. Have woke up a few times in the night just on fire and sweaty (but only since the Ablation and Tubal I had 4 months ago - wonder if something strange has gone on with the overies from that surgery).

I think it is natural to mourn the loss of something that has/is a part of you. Maybe it is good to think about it now instead of it hitting you like a brick afterwards. One less thing for your mind to have to deal with while you are in pain.

I can definitely understand why this is a bitter-sweet time for you. Hopefully the sad thoughts won't cloud YOUR special day though. And I know there's one thing you'll be glad to lose...your monthly periods. That right there is worth celebrating!
