Pathology report question

Just wondering if any hyster sister experts know the pathology shorthand. I see my regular GYN tomorrow, but the report was faxed to me today (had my surgery in another city). I'll get some answers tomorrow, but thought I'd check in here since I'm curious.

I had an LSH and it said on the report that "there is possible pink-red endometrium measuring less than .2 cm in thickness." Then it says under diagnosis (in addition to the note about the uterus and hyst):
- secretory endometrium
- benign leiomyomas

Any ideas about what this means? I will find out tomorrow but thought I'd ask here too.
Signed,
Sleepless, Hormonal and Curious in Richmond

TIA!

Pathology report question

I think the secretory endometrium has to do w/ what stage your uterus was at in your cycle and a leiomyoma is a growth in your uterus I think..You can google both terms and find plenty on both. Maybe someone here has personal experience w/ it though. I am told by a nurse friend you shouldn't be worried... I personally think they could have waited to show you the path report when you arrived at the doc office. I really don't think they'd fax you bad news ahead of time.

Thanks for the nice note...I should have clarified; they made it clear that it's all fine; I was just curious about what the terms were. Not worried per se; just wondering. I will google later on. Hugs back at you!

Pathology report question

Hi KDS8705
I don't know much about interpreting these but there is a good article on Pathology Reports in the Post op Articles. There might be some of the information you need in there. http://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/article_118892.htm
