Progestrone or no progestrone

Hi
I am getting ready to have a full hysterectomy due to a borderline ovarian cancer. I have been doing so much reading of various books.

Most ob/gyn and gyn/onc I have talk to do NOT believe in progestrone once your uterus is out. Several book I have read like Dr. Lee believe you should.

Like most women I have alot of fears, but since reading the books I am less scared of HRT and plan to get on bioidentical hormones, but I am not sure what to make heads or tails of progestrone.

The only experience I can go by when I was doing invitro they had me on estrogen and I felt fine, but adding progestrone I had horrible mood swings and bloated.

Would love to hear various opinions
Thanx

Usually it is better to start on estrogen only and see how you do. You may or may not need progesterone, it is not for everyone. Some women don't need it, some can't use it. You can read more about your options for hrt in the articles at www.hormonejungle.com

Best wishes on your upcoming surgery.
